I haven't seen one of these around, and I just got to thinking after being killed in a game while trying to freaking play it through without dieing... I remember the time I was playing multi with some people and we got bored in engineering I think? And we started just fragging eachother. One guy got so pissed he quit instantly after dieing saying "I CAN PLAY THIS GAME THROUGH WITHOUT DIEING ONCE AND YOU RUINED IT FOR ME" ......Well damn. A few times I ran around spawning turrets all over until they owned me....and then my teammates....it was a lot of fun actually.
Sooo any special stories about Shock 2? Maybe first time you wet yourself?

First playthrough, I was in the Body of the Many. Low ammo, low health. Scared shitless.
Let's describe the setting: I had been playing since ~5PM and it was now ~6.30AM. I was playing with headphones.
I walk cautiously over an edge and land on some squishy thing. I can hear spiders. I just got past a rumbler unnoticed. And suddenly something explodes nearby. I'm so startled I think I jumped on my seat, and yelled, and just sprinkled everything with bullets until my AR was empty.
Result: I got the scare of my life, I basically only killed the WALLS, and every enemy in a 10km radius heard me going Full Metal Jacket. When they arrived I had no ammo left, so I got killed.
And I kindly asked my to-be bro'-in-law to NEVER AGAIN sneeze in my back when he was watching me play without me knowing about it.
(He was petrified.)

Let me think... (It's been some years, you know)
I'd say it was down in engineering, first time playing it. It was already tense with all these bulkheads opening, closing, opening (one too many -- who was that?), short on ammo for the pistol and so forth.
And finally I reach the security closet where I am able to buy enough skills for the shotgun. In a Schwarzenegger style I cock the shotgun which I preciously kept all the way down there and walk outside again to the hybrids - "Now, who's gonna join me, eh?". :p

First two hybrids and the sounds they were making. I was playing with my brother and we were young and we gasped together and yelled with each other and held our breath as one ;)

The "wow" feeling when playing the demo back when I was fifteen is what I always remember. :cheeky:

My most memorable SS2 moment was, I think, on the admin deck. . . I'd been playing for hours, and was in that hyper-tense tunnel vision mode. . .
I got mobbed by like three spiders. . . I think two sneaked up behind me while I was fighting with one and when I realized it, I got literally got the heebie-jeebies, threw my mouse down, hopped-up on my chair and was frantically trying to brush the spiders off myself.
I'm getting chills just recounting it.

That awesome, spoilery, plot-twist part. Was I the only one who didn't see that coming?

^^^
Nope. Game had me hook, line, and sinker. When those doors opened and I saw what was inside, I actually became a little sick.

After owning the game for so long, and playing it many times, still getting goosebumps when I hear the shouting "RUN!!!". Still getting whacked on the head, from behind with a lead pipe and still jumping!
Not many games have creeped me out as much as this one did. Doom3 started out like this but after 30mins, it didn't work. I got this game on first release, so 9 years later and it still works!
