I'm a Radeon user, and I have texture problems w/ D3d. OpenGL fixes EVERYTHING! You need to use the .dll file that Psykomanius uses, or you get brightness problems. Wish
I'd known about this before today. :tsktsk:

Wow, it's been awhile since I've tried that dll out. Performance has increased a lot (especially with detail textures enabled). BUT, it still has one nagging bug that hasn't been fixed. With the targeting aug upgraded all the way, the PIP should show the enemy's HP for all their bodyparts. With this dll it only shows the PIP, not the stats. Anyone else noticed this?

why is the brigthness messed up when start the game using Opengl?
I'm using the .dll that Psykomanius uses

From the website:
I built a new renderer for Deus Ex. It's the 2.8 code built to work with Deus Ex. The file is dxglr12.zip (works with Deus Ex version 1112fm). OneXBlending is enabled by default in this renderer, but if the brightness looks off, in addition to GammaOffset adjustments, also make sure OneXBlending=True in the [OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice] section of your DeusEx.ini file.

Direct3D has the best image quality. The detail textures look more defined compared to Glide and OpenGL. Unfortunately there're some annoying mipmap issues with Radeon cards while everything is fine on GeForce cards. The new OpenGL renderer gives the highest FPS.

If it's already in the latest version, why would anyone need to download it separately? :erg:

That's great, but why would a GeForce4 user want to use it? According to most opinions here, Direct3D gives better image quality on a GeForce.
