Natalie Imbruglia - Torn
Just out of curiosity, are you going by however Natalie Imbruglia's music has been received in just New Zealand? It's just that, at least here in the UK, I don't see how she could ever be considered a one-hit wonder - I can think of 6 singles of hers off the top of my head, at least 4 of which I'm sure were Top 10 charters over here.
I'll agree with you about the New Radicals though (although the song was actually called "You Get What You Give"). Definite one-hit wonder - great song though!

Dexy's, Men At Work and 10CC as one-hit wonders?
'the fuck?

The one and only Chesney Hawkes with his one and only hit, "The One and Only", which is actually subtly harmonically interesting.

Former Four Non Blondes-singer Linda Perry wrote "Get the party started" for Pink and "Beautiful" for Christina Aguilera. True story.

Haha, ever since hearing this played by an oompah band at the Oktoberfest in Munich (with a tentful of people drunkenly bawling along to it)*, the song can't help but put a smile on my face everytime I listen to it.
* FWIW, it was truly glorious.

The small stir the final lines of the lyrics caused by slightly insulting Beck, Hanson, Marilyn Manson and Courtney Love, led the lead singer to proclaim loudly that the New Radicals were the best band ever - or something of the sort. Granted the song is good, but the faith they had in themselves was a tad overdone.

- I own a "Best of" George Baker Selection LP and I can tell you that this song is their only hit for a good reasonIn the mid-seventies (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R36CixkIaIc) Paloma Blanca was a huge hit across Europe and even a moderate one in the US. So he/they is/are at least a two-hit wonder.

To add to the list:

EDIT: Curse you Henke for sticking Paloma Blanca in my head.
Yeah you're right I did it myself, but I blame you!

not to single you out Muz, but some more quality control is called for when discussing real one hit wonders. the Presidents had at least two hit songs
True, true. They only had one "big" hit though, they others were mostly alterna hits of some sort.
This problem does usually come up; a one hit wonder in one country is an institution in another (The Divinyls in 80s Aus spring to mind); the cool band has big breakthrough hit etc. By some definitions Tori Amos and Nine Inch Nails could be one hit wonders.
Anyway, whatabout (

That's tolerable. Although he's got a longer career than I'd have thought.
There must be dozens from the House period too, although I was surprised to see (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S_express) S Express had a longish career.
That New Radicals song is also one of those cases where everyone kinda forgot they liked it until it showed up again in a movie or something (advert in this case).
