So I was recently minded that I legitimately like Harvey Danger's "Flagpole Sitta" in contrast to the vast majority of hit singles, particularly from one-hit wonders. So: what are your favorites?

Best One-Hit Wonder
My precision rifle. It can also be a two-hit or even a three-hit wonder if you want to.:idea:

Took me a while to find this because I didn't remember the name, anyway...

Have we defined what constitutes a "hit" here? Something that got a lot of airplay? Something that had decent sales? Something that made the Top 100? The only song that anyone remembers by that band? What?
There's so many that this might take all day. Anyway, here's a few. To limit the sheer volume, I'll just list the ones that I own a copy of:
* Belle Stars, "Iko Iko"
* Autograph, "Turn Up Your Radio"
* Mountain, "Mississippi Queen"
* The Buggles, "Video Killed the Radio Star"
* Daddy Dewdrop, "Chick-a-Boom"
* M, "Pop Muzik"
* Taco, "Puttin' on the Ritz"
* Iron Butterfly, "In A Gadda Da Vida"
* Honeymoon Suite, "New Girl Now"
* Men Without Hats, "Safety Dance"
* Timelords, "Doctorin' the Tardis"
* Big Country, "In a Big Country"
* Landscape, "Norman Bates"
* Eddy Grant, "Electric Avenue"
* ? And The Mysterians, "96 Tears"

My old band used to do a Fudge Tunnel-esque cover of 'Mississippi Queen' back in the day. God, that song was heavy.

Maybe one-hit wonders in the USA; not so much the rest of the world.

My bad, they got nothing else on this side of the pond
