Raging Bull: Jake Lamotta vs. the wall.

Many of mine have been mentioned but I don't think anyone has said my favorite fighter Chan's most stunning feat of improvisational found object incorporation: the folding ladder scene in "First Strike".
Simply breathtaking. The man is a goddamned poet in motion.
While searching for a clip of it I found this amazing stunt chase. Similar to a shoe commercial from a few years back but I think this one is different. If not then it's an extended version:

Oh and the clips Scots posted had me crying. I love how they both just kept fighting like hardly anything had happened.

bill and ted's bogus journey, bill and ted vs death himself in an epic contest of... electric hockey.
crossroads, ralph macchio vs steve val in the guitar battle from hell.
tombstone, doc holiday vs johnny ringo in the saloon- latin debates aren't just for academia, plus definitive proof that while the pen may not be mightier than the sword, the cup definitely beats the pistol.
an american werewolf in london, werewolf vs the london police force.

Firefly/Serenity bar-room brawls. Whether started by Mal, or by River, they're awesome. Aw hell, all of River's fights own.
Fight Club fights were really good too.
I'm not a fan of the long, drawn out Eastern-type fights. It just gets out of hand after a while.

Thread Resurrection :D
Michelle Yeoh's
Magnificent Warriors ((
http://imdb.com/title/tt0094375/) Zhong hua zhan shi (1987)) is one of my favorite action films. It has excellently-choreographed fights and action scenes throughout.
The second fight of the movie (Michelle "protecting" her uncle) has Michelle wielding a rope with blade on the end, and makes the Kill Bill Vol 1 fight between Uma and (
http://imdb.com/name/nm0475752/) Chiaki Kuriyama (as Gogo Yubari) look short and simple in comparison.
The entire movie is one great action scene after another, many of those some of Michelle's best fight scenes ever IMO. Many of them are close-quarter fights against multiple opponents.
Michelle did an interview that showed up (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ti1h9dk47Hw) here on YouTube, where she talks about the movie.
(
http://www.kungfucinema.com/reviews/magnificentwarriors.htm) Kung Fu Cinema has a nice write-up too.
Definately a worthy watch if you like Michelle Yeoh and Hong Kong cinema.
Cheers,
Martek

I nearly resurrected this a couple of weeks ago when I finally saw the Jackie Chan and Benny The Jet Urquidez fight from Meals on Wheels. It was freaking awesome.

Return of the Jedi: Vader vs. Luke
Unforgiven: Clint Eastwood vs. Gene Hackman and company in the bar at the end... "Deserve's got nothing to do with it... *BLAM*"
Where Eagles Dare: Clint Eastwood shoots about 80 gajillion Nazi's while dual wielding two german Schmeisser machine pistols. Secondary mention for Richard Burton with ice axe vs. two other guys while on top of a cable car... kills one, then sets some dynamite and leaps to the cable car coming the other direction.

A resurrection because I saw (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeS6y6mbUzY) this brutal fight from Deadwood season 3 (out of sync, but the buildup is just as crucial as the denouement) just two nights ago and felt it deserved a hallowed place in this pantheon. (Don't watch this if you're either watching season 3 - unless you're beyond episode 5 - or are planning to watch deadwood at some stage, because this isn't
just a fight, it's the culmination of a big plot point).
-Spoilers Follow-
I don't think I've openly shouted
yes!! at my TV in a while. Nothing has really gotten me that involved for a long time. However, Deadwood changed that with the fight between Dan Dorrity and Capt. Turner. It was fucking fantastic watching Hearst's seeming omnipotence slip from him, the fight scene itself was fantastic but it was actually really tense because that cold, calculating fuck Hearst had been so untouchable thus far that you actually believed Dorrity might not get through it, not to mention Turner having a formidable appearance as well. But then he goes for the eye!
O_X
I think Deadwood is the first HBO show that I can safely say has improved greatly season upon seaon, with almost every other show I've watched (Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Sex and the City, Oz) you could argue that their best season was the earliest or newest, where it was fresh and new, but Deadwood is continuing to build upon the previous seasons in ways that I just feel elevate each season above the prior.
And it is true, Al Swearengen is probably the best character to ever grace television screens in our history.
