I just watched that yesterday, maybe it was this thread that made me dig it out. It's amazing, isn't it? Got to be one of the best 'come-uppance' scenes ever filmed... and Mifune does a great job of appearing to be totally shitting himself. Probably not difficult, considering the Japanese film industry's no-nonsense methods in such scenes. Not sure if it's the same technique used in Seven Samurai (ie, expert archer shooting an arrow into a board hidden under clothing), but if so it must have been pretty nerve-wracking.

Oh, I forgot:
Die Hard 3 - Bruce Willis against those eeeevil Germans in the elevator. This scene gives me funny ideas everytime I´m in an elevator with eeevil Germans. Which doesn´t happen too often. Because I use the stairs. I want to stay in shape so I can pull off such a stunt if ever needed.

*now adding as many of these to Netflix as possible*
Also, I'd add the scene in "A History of Violence" where Viggo's kid is confronted by the bully.

From the (
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120815/trivia) IMDB:
SPOILER: As the German soldier stabs Mellish to death, he says: "Gib' auf, du hast keine Chance! Lass' uns ein Ende machen es ist so viel leichter für dich!" This translates: "Give up, you don't stand a chance! Let's end this here, it will be easier for you like this!" The words are spoken in Austrian-accented German.
Yup, that was the fight scene that came to mind. Fuck, it was agonizing to watch.

Dragonslayer, wizard vs dragon-
Ulrich- "Draco... Dracorum."
Vermithrax- *SNAARRRL!!!*
Die Hard, Bruce Willis vs Boris Godunov- 'You should have heard your brother squeal when I broke his fuckin' neck!!"
Zorro, Tyrone Powers vs Basil Rathbone- more badass fencing from the golden age of cinema.
Enter the Dragon, Bruce Lee in the underground drug lab.
Escape from New York, Snake Plissken vs Slag- spiked baseball bat ftw
Big Trouble in Little China, the final battle- not up to Hong Kong standards but still righteous.
Jabberwocky, the jousting scenes- I'm laughing now as I remember how the black knight just pancaked the 'good' knight against the castle wall.
Spiderman, Spiderman vs Green Goblin/the wrestling scene- all excellent.
City Hunter, the 'Street Fighter Finale'- somebody please tell me that Jackie Chan is going to get an oscar someday. also the bit with the guard, the machine gun, and the gun sling is a minor classic in itself.
Time Bandits, Lucifer vs the dwarfs
Streets of Fire, Tom Cody vs Raven with sledgehammers and fists- Willem Dafoe was awesome in this one.
Rapid Fire, Brandon Lee vs Al Leong- Brandon takes a spinning back kick to the face, staggers, and falls on his ass- 'wait a minute, the hero isn't supposed to get his bell rung'! the fight on the el tracks was almost as good.
Iron Monkey, the boss battle.
Godzilla vs The Smog Monster- watching Godzilla finally kick the living fucking shit out of the eponymous bad guy was a childhood highpoint.
EDIT-Van Helsing, vampire vs werewolf- terrible movie, awesome fight scene.

Ah yes, the ninja attack on the samurai compound in
The Last Samurai was another tense and excellent sequence. I love the way it just came out of nowhere and until now you thought these samurais were badass, then comes in Mr Ninja who for a moment looks like they're going to wipe them all out... if it weren't for Tom.
What, those green beret commando ninja? Please.
The Last Samurai never even got close to the cheeseball miniseries
Shogun.
Two thumbs up on
Dragonslayer, though.

A few which weren't mentioned (i hope):
The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly: Tuco in the bathtub, and Mr. talkative.
Aliens: The scene with the Queen alien and Sigourney Weaver in the huge crane w/ boxes
V for Vendetta: The Last fight scene when
V (or i call him 5) shoots the High Chancellor, then refuses to take off his mask. The guards empty a huge round of bullets into him and he kills them all before they have time to reload!
I know some of you wouldn't call it a fight!
Fight Club: Narrator Vs. Himself! When he is in his bosses office. I think that won an oscar for best fight scene too! (very well done)
Underworld: Final fight scene
Full Metal Jacket: Scene with the sniper in that abandoned town. (poor 8 Ball)
