My mouse, which is 6 years old, needs replacing. The left mouse button has gotten worn down- it doesn't make that "click" feeling anymore like the less-used right mouse button still does. This isn't a serious problem yet, save for two things: I can't always tell if I actually clicked something, and on occasion (maybe once in a hundred, at this point) a click doesn't register.
I need a new mouse. Preferably something cheap, reliable, and not at all fancy.

As biker says, the old MS optical wheel mice are reliable, cheap and functional. I've still got the one I bought about ten years ago as a backup. Not as good as my Razer for gaming though.

That just might be the worst mouse I have ever seen.

I want to put one on my mantlepiece just so I can make guests try and figure out what it is.

It looks like an unholy cross between a mouse, a motorbike, and a stapler.

I swear I have something just like that on my bike. It's the thing I keep racking myself on every time I have to make a sudden stop.
