Uhm. I have forgotten what kinds of light armor there are.
I have a complete Dark Brotherhood set on me right now, but it can't be the best, can it? It gives me good protection (50+ something I think) at the moment, and I know that as I get better at the skill it increases, but do all armors do this? I have had this one since the first time I encountered an assassin, which was on day one in the game. is it possible that this armor will eventually give me 100+ protection? Is that max (absorb 100% of damage dealt to me)?
I know it sounds like a n00b question, but I have played Morrowind a lot (took a hiatus between may-september 2003) and finished the main quest yada yada...but I just can't remember different armor types and stuff like this ;_;
Help? ^_^
EDIT: accidentally posted in the spoilers forum. please move to the general morrowind forum?

My set of "Glass Armor" gives me about 160 armor rating, and I doubt that's the best. I have a light armor pair of flying boots called "the boots of Apostle" or something which have an armor rating of 250.

Here's a spoiler to keep it here then ^.^
The Cuirass of the Savior's Hide is the best light armor cuirass. It also gives you 100% resist magicka. You can find it in the Hall of Fyr in Tel Fyr (it's locked in a closet.)
Don't forget to pick up Scourge (in a locked chest on the ground in the same room as Divayth Fyr) and the Daedric Crescent (there's a small chest on the shelves next to Divayth Fyr. Unlock it to get the amulet, save and equip the amulet. Don't save after equipping it though... Not until you get the Crescent.)
That's about it for Light Armor. All the best other pieces are glass AFAIK. Heavy Armor is where the really high AR is at!

How high does the Heavy armor's rating get to? I'm 100 in Light armor, 70 in medium, but something around 20 in heavy.:p

Cuirass of the Savior's Hide gives you 60% Resist Magicka.

Yes of course, glass armor. I forgot that it wasn't medium, but light. I'm gonna check out that Savior's Hide thing later, thanks for the tip.

If you are using the Cuirass of the Saviour's Hide, consider wearing the Boots of Blinding Speed - they are cursed with Blindness at 100%, but the 60% magic resistance will offset this, more so if you are already resistant like a Breton or an Orc.
The armour rating is far less than the Boots of the Apostle, but the +200 boost to speed makes these boots indispensible for me when playing. I just carry both on me. If you don't already know how to get the BoBS, take the road North from Caldera and find a Redguard woman named...Pemenie? Something like that. She has them, and you can even get them from her in a legally legitimate way, if that's your play style.

Far far less you should say, as the rating of the boots of apostle is 250 while the boots of blinding speed is only 16!
Is there any other light armor with more than 200 armor rating?
Celwyn on 23/11/2003 at 05:58
Can't think of any other than that already mentioned. Doesn't seem possible to have a full suit of artifact-level armour be it light, medium or heavy. I know of no artifact-level pauldrons or greaves, and with light armour, not even a helmet or gauntlets.
Kafein on 29/11/2003 at 01:08
ah! the orcs have spell resistance too???:o i thought it was just me! (bretons)
anyway... the boots of blinding speed r the most fragille things i've ever seen. i use them all the time, combined with constant levitation, and although i dont even get any close to creatures, i mean i bomb them from the top, those damn boots always falls off me by even just a sneeze of an alit! but i'm addicted to them:sweat: i dont know what to do... i wish there was a way for upgrading them:) up to ebony:P
those boots of the apostle were useful until i've found the boots of blinding speed. specially for their extreme armor rating!!!
by the way, r those bearskin armors in bloodmoon any good? should i bother getting them? r they light? medium or heavy?
and there is a nordic light helmet artifact that constantly protects against cold... i think it was from that-naked-sexy-nord-in-the-middle-of-nowhere :P (i saw his twin brother in tribunal, and i was shocked after his answer:D a very nice and surprising detail i think)
