TDS:
After Flashbombing a guard in the docks
"..yes... I think I can... yes... I can see again... ohhhh stars..."
After picking a pocket:
"I've been robbed! ME! Who would dare steal from me?!?!"
and then later as he passes a city watch (I like to pretend it's the same guy)
"Have you found the guy who stole my purse yet? No, of course you haven't!"
After being spotted:
"If you come out I'll give you a BIG surprise!"

I went on a murderous rampage in the City last night (whilst testing out my 6fps framerate, honest), and I was quite impressed when I arrowed down a guy who collapsed slowly, leaking, whilst mumbling "Look at...look at....all the blood..." or something before dying.
It was well cool, man, you shoulda seen it!!!!!!1111!!1!onetwo :thumb:

What the taff...that's classic! I could not sleep last night because I kept laughing. Taff. :laff: Taff you! What the taffing hell is going on in here?!? Where's the taffing patch?!
It's my new word...it completely rules.
"Nay, simpleton. Knowest thou not, to say "taffer" is to speak the name of the defeated adversary, the Trickster?! Tis a corruption, a cloaking that acknowledges him without intent, and gives him an entry into thy thoughts!"

There are plentiful good quotes, but one moment which will forever be with me from Thief 2, though not spoken, is on the bank level.
Having read many reports/journals/notes expressing concern and contempt at the nepotistic choice of the new master banker, I then happen across his journal, containing his prepared acceptance speech:
Quote:
Thank you my good, fellow bankers for you're attendance here tonight and thank you, to my Uncle Tyler for picking me too be the next person, who will be in the Position of the Master Banker because he knows like all of you do that I will do the best job at that job and that in my Capable Hands the first city bank and Trust will grow in prominince, and wealth in the city. Our valued clients, will continue to fill our coffers with there wealth which we will have used to generate more revenue to improve our wages and our services to our clients which are always improving. For that is really what are goals must be and we must all continue to focus on the important issues at the bank which are our goals: to make money and to please are clients.
Had I been Garrett, I would have brought every guard in the place dashing over with the resulting laughter. Such superb details are to be applauded. Thief 1 and 2 are still the finest things I have ever installed. Still yet to really form an opinion on Thief 3, although it is certainly having some choice moments, like:
Quote:
Ora... ah.. er, a golden dagger, eh? Yeah, sure, I heard of it. I'm Garrett, ain't I."

I like the sleeping hammer mage in TDS:
"Oh no, I can't find the coal! The furnace shalt go out! Ohhhhhhhhh"

The best bits in Deadly Shadows are the conversations the AI has. Especially when a innocent runs off to find a guard:
"Dammit, he's gone. I swear he was here a minute a go"
"You sure, huh? Well, I guess I should take a look around... Come out you dirty Taffer, you'll get a big surprise!"
"Where could he have gone?"
"Don't worry, he's around here somewhere. I'll find him"
* some time passes *
"Oh well, I guess he must have taken off when he heard me coming. Heh heh heh."
And every time you hear it, it's different.

My favorit is of the guy next to the guard in the second mission, when he sees just some of your movements: "What was that there, in the shadows? Maybe it's a pretty young woman, bringing me gifts and telling me how handsome I am? Nah..." :laff: :laff: :laff: The poor guy... I like the one DarkTimes posted very much too ;)

I can’t remember the exact wording, or in which T2 Mission, but as I recall a Hammerite Guard once remarked, upon hearing my clumsy sneaking around:
“Hello? What’s that sound? [Long Pause While Listening] Ah tis nothing . . . just the sweet pinging of a boiler somewhere.”

DS:
Guard 1: "Evening."
Guard 2: "Bugger off."
