Haha! That's more of an oblique jab at the Trickster or paganism. He believes he's seeing things and blames it on the opposing forces. Thief's full of faction quotes against opposing factions, some overt, some abstract.:D

Can't believe no one has mentioned this one. Can't recall exact wording but I heard it in DS in End of the Bloodline. It was Benny while drunk :D I had made enough ruckus to make him moderately suspicious and he was staggering around to investigate. When he finally gave up he said something like:
"Nah, I'll find it next time... You come back next time y'hear!?"

And again if you time your attack on robots correctly, you'll get them to say:
