This has probably been mentioned before (could be arsed in reading the previous 6 pages of quotes) but Benny has the best quotes, but the one quote i heard which was really funny at the time is when the City Watch defeat you in TDS and when you die the screen goes black the guards say something like: "Guards 1, Shadow loving thiefs 0"

Aside from the sheer brilliance of the "drunk Benny" tirade from T2, my favorite is a Hammerite quote from T1 that I heard when I was listening to the sound files but never ran across in the game:
"RECEIVE THY POUNDING!" :laff:
And I've had this sound bite forever as my error message:
"Aw, shhh-- what happened?!?"

I’ve spent the past four months transcribing all of the letters, books, and verbiage from Thief I and II to a database reference. In all of the Nobel Guards conversations I've heard I think none are as funny as the taunting argument between Master Willey and Lady Van Vernon’s guards.
