lol, well I got my strength to... um... around 10 million (I got bored!) Trueflame broke in one hit. Right now my strength is at 220 and I'm wearing down Trueflame way too fast for comfort, especially with this new expansion.
As long as you don't over do it, strength is fine. Feather is better if you carry the more fragile weapons... Or you can do a combination of both strength and feather. Just remember, 1 point of feather = 1 pound; 1 point of strength = 5 pounds. And strength ups your damage while feather doesn't do anything ;)

ok i use one of "skullcrucher, goldbrand, monarch, crescent or daedric dai-katana" and my strength is around 150 with my "skirt of ogrim" and "power pants"... none of those are likely to break easily... right?:erm: but i sometimes use ancient silver dagger...
oh shit!!! i sometimes use magebane jjust because i like it... i should be more careful with it!!! it's glassssssssss!!!:o
but what happens if they break?... glue?
or i'm just stupid because u mean the situation that they lose all of their health points, and need to be repaired...:grr: ok... if so, just ignore me...
but the point i can't really get is what the "alchemy trick" is and how it is related to the fragility of the weapons...
shadowj on 10/6/2003 at 01:18
ok the alchemy trick is where ya get loads of 2 ingredients for exmaple I want to get my intelligence up, I get 100 netch leather and 100 ash yams
I then make 3 potions and drink them to increase my INT, I do the same over and over againtil I have no more ingredients, since ya drinkin the potions ya INT increases and the other 3 ya make after have increased effect points and duration makin the effect longer and INT increase more which make the other potions stronger and keeps goin round
this has somethin to do with fragility since ya doin it with strength but when ya increase STR it increases ya damage ratio and hit points which increases the wear and tear ratio and breaks the weapon more
my brains hurtin now I'm gonna have a lie down :P
Kafein on 10/6/2003 at 08:20
oh hurting? i feel mine leaking down between my shoulders...
hmm...:erm: but if u think those two situations are similar, the damage u give after increasing your strength, should be turning back to u as strength points ...right?:cheeky:

No offense intended...
But of course feather is a nice thing - I really like the Redas robe of deeds.
And if you want to increase your speed the last bit - then feather might be a nice thing to put onto your items - in that way you could come close to zero in encumberance...
As for the repair job - carry two weapons... Two hits = two kills. Can't remember anytime I went up against more than two opponents. Besides having THAT high a str - unarmed should do nicely!
And when you got that much carrying capacity - hauling some tools along won't be a problem. And even with a LOUSY armourer skill you will repair an item eventually.(By why not just buy it up to some 30-50 pts.?)

I always carry 2 longbows and 2 swords plus 15 apprentice hammers, 20 journeyman hammers, 30 master hammers, 5 grandmaster hammers and the hammer from the supposedly master armourer trainer in Ebonheart(can't remember his name) that always keeps me armour and weapons repaired
Kafein on 10/6/2003 at 23:03
how did u get that hammer that keeps your armor repaired??? i need that!!!
ok...i'm stupid...:weird:
Is a weapon with half of it's health points lost, less effective than a full one? or is it useless only when broken, and doesn't make any difference how much health points are left, until it's broken?
could anyone understand my question? because i couldn't...:erg:
sappe on 10/6/2003 at 23:08
yes when the health drops it gets les effective. If health drops to 0 you can't use it.
Same thing with armor.
I don't think shadowj meant that the last hammer he mentioned kept everything repaird. He meant that carrying all that stuff let's him keep his stuff repaired.
Did that make sence? Guess we're both tierd :D
