Hi guys,
Really wanna buy myself a nice 5.1 system. I need something geared towards music rather than games as it's my prime concern. I can't go much above 150 pounds. I was looking at Logitech Z-5500 as they seem to have rave reviews and it looks like I could pick a used set up for around my price range off ebay. Any input would sure be appreciate as this is an investment I don't want to regret.

Hm, if it's for Music mainly I'd highly recommend looking for a Decent Stereo System. Just find a Cheap Hi-fi with decent output (I'm using an old Pioneer one) and buy some decent priced speakers and it will sound far better than any 5.1 system you can find for that price range.
Decent Priced Stereo Speakers(

Or even some good Bookshelf Speakers(

Also it's super easy to connect a Hi-fi to a PC, I'm using a Home made cable (2x RCA to 3.5mm Jack) or alternatively you can buy them pre-made.
If not then yeah, the Logitech Z-5500 speakers are pretty decent.

If you can find a new set of S750 (Creative GigaWorks), I BELIEVE the audio fidelity is superior in terms of SNR and THD though the construction is a bit cheap looking compared to logitech. I'd be happy with either.

I have a set and use them for the Xbox. For movies and games they're phenomenal; With music you don't get as much midrange as you would with a good set of bookshelf speakers, though the Logitechs are still above average, and certainly enjoyable for music listening -- especially DVD-Audio (I only have a few dvd-a discs, but they all sound great with this setup). I bought mine back when they were expensive and I haven't regretted it -- Logitech seems to be one of the best dollar-to-quality brands when it comes to speakers (their iPod dock is also wonderful).

Thanks for the help you guys. Never even considered bookshelves. Some of those big warfdales look tasty.
