Well, I'm not really sure what you could possibly mean by "devoting" oneself to atheism, since atheism (unlike religion) isn't something one can devote oneself to.
Hmm? In that case aren't you contradicting yourself with your first post by comparing my two sentences?
1) I find it silly to devote oneself to a belief, and then I say that I do not think that God exists.
2) You quote these two and make it appear as though these two are contradictory.
3) You believe that no level of atheism (lack of belief in a God) can be considered devotion. Then why did you find my two sentences contradictory in the first place?
My point was that there are atheists who STRONGLY believe that there absolutely cannot be a God, which, depending on the degree, I can find nearly as silly as believing that there absolutely must be a God. Maybe devotion was the wrong word?

Then why are you proselytizing?
I actually agree with you more than I don't, but you sure do come off as an insufferable heavy in these threads.

This. This is why atheists get a bad rap.

I get goosebumps at a Sting concert.
I consider 'Cowboy Song' to be empirical proof that God either doesn't exist or hates us

I am? I thought I was just expressing an opinion?

Here was me thinking insufferable heaviness was Muslims stoning women to death for committing adultery or Christians burning witches at the stake, and all this time what it really was was expressing an opinion on the Internet. Consider me informed.

haha yeah people are mentally ill, just an opinion :joke:
SD on 4/8/2009 at 11:39
Mental illness is generally what we call it when people have invisible friends, but oddly enough, not when that invisible friend is given the name Jehovah or Allah.
If billions of people are unable to operate the same consistency of mind as I am, but rather, are able to believe in a creature called "God" which has precisely zero proof behind it while simultaneously rejecting other creatures such as leprechauns, Zeus, Odin, gnomes and unicorns as nonsense, then that is not my problem.

We were genetically Engineered. Some DNA Strains have been
tainted to see the survival rate statistics for these strains (some are Darwin award recipients) In the end, it's a large scale evaluation/experiment.
