Has anyone been to Belfast? Any recommendations for a November weekend there? (Other than bring a helmet.)
What about the currency? I suppose they have their own mint in Northern Ireland. Is it a bad idea to pay with English Pound notes or are they generally accepted?

No idea about what to do in Belfast itself, but Ulster pound sterling are legal tender in Scotland so you shouldn't have a problem paying with English pounds in Northern Ireland.

English, Scottish AND Northern Irish pounds are all very welcome here! NI notes aren't usually accepted in England though, for some bizarre reason. What sort of thing are you looking for, Kyloe?
Jakeyboy on 6/10/2006 at 22:03
Yeah, make sure you introduce to them some DECENT looking banknotes.
The Scottish £100 notes also get on my nerves.

I'm mostly interested in classic theater and museums. I like technical stuff, but my gf prefers art and history. I guess the wall is in a residential area. I think it would be interesting to compare sizes. :)

You might be able to catch a Belfast Giants game. If ice hockey does it for ya. The (
http://www.theodyssey.co.uk/main.htm) Oddesy has some nice nightclubs apparantly. Think it still has the Imax, not sure.
As for notes, You might have a bit of bother with English £20 notes. I think there was a huge counterfeit thing years ago. As far as I'm aware, Northern Irish currency is not legal tender anywhere in UK mainland. Though it is usually accpeted in Scotland, in England they think it's Irish money despite the queens head and ENGLISH POUNDS STERLING wrote all over it.

Thanks. I have no interest in sports or nightclubs, though.
They actually have a Life-of-Pi play. Ah, it's in March. Oh well.
