I haven't done shit besides grill out, or drink a little bit on my birthday in 10+ years.
My girlfriend just bought tix for (
http://www.hvsry.org/home_page/robberytrain.htm) this for my birthday this year. It takes place the day after my actual birthday. Anyway, I think it looks hilariously awesome to get roaring drunk and have some Old West fun.
Btw, the town the train starts and leaves from is where my entire family (dad's side) live, so they are throwing me a big boozy bonfire birthday bash (alliteration :)) w/tons of aunts, uncles, cousins, etc...some I haven't seen in 20 years.
Just thought I'd show you, as I have never seen anything so awesome.
Maybe I'll wear some camo
Uflage ;)

Very cool. At our local railway preservation branch a couple of years ago, they had a World War II-themed day with re-enactors staging a pitched battle for control of one of the station, vintage half-tracks roaring around, live period music and some actors on the train playing spies who were caught by investigating troops. It was great fun.

You totally have to take a real-looking toy gun with you and when they come to "rob the train" you throw a tantrum like some chaotic-good psycho rogue and then proceed to save the day by forcing the "bandits" at gunpoint out of the rolling train. Then you grow tired of the bitching passengers and throw them out as well. Then you get on the roof (watch out!) where you fight the head of the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway Corp. It will be awesome and many cheers are guaranteed upon your arrival in 1984.

Thanks, I will. Yeah it's cheesy, but it is a break from the day-to-day routine, and hopefully a chance to have a bit of old-skool fun.

My girlfriend had ONE condition of this happening:that I didn't do exactly what you prescribed. :D She knows me all too well. Also, you have stepped up a notch on my awesome scale for that post, however snarky it is..
