Corpses are surprisingly flammable in DX:IW. What really scares me is how they'll catch on fire over and over, always just as nicely as the first time. Corpses, the ultimate renewable fuel source!

Has anyone else been doing fun sociopathic stuff in DX:IW yet? Or abusing the quirky physics engine, etc..
NoOne on 5/12/2003 at 08:25
sociopathic? nope :(
but... i've broken all crates i've seen so far, that's in the vicinity of 1/3 of the game...

Well that doesn't really surprise me, it are the chemicals you spray on the corpses that are burning not the corpses themselves.

That. is. INSANE! :laff:

Actually, I didn't spray anything on them.. I just tossed a couple corpses into the gold beams, which lights them on fire, then strung a trail of corpses down the hall from that. Burning corpses will catch other nearby corpses on fire, and when one goes out it has to stay out for a few seconds before it'll catch again. It looks like a string of blinking christmas lights in action, and all I have to do is sit back and watch!

You don't even need a constant ignition source. Just light up a corpse, wait a bit, then toss another corpse on, and so on... and you'll have an infinitely-burning corpse pile. If you get it just right you can do this with as few as two corpses. One will burn, setting the other on fire, and when it goes out it'll be re-lit by the currently-burning one.
They sure put a lot of thought into this game, didn't they?

Bah, now that's nitpicking. :D
ZylonBane on 5/12/2003 at 22:28
Yeah, but don't you get the impression the DX1 was put together by a bunch of obsessive nitpickers? Looking at all the things in DX2 that are just... "off"... it's like their primary goal was just getting it done. Or put another way--
DX1 was a labor of love. DX2 was just laborious.

Nope.
Then again,
I don't need to find things to whine about.
ZylonBane on 6/12/2003 at 01:48
Neither do I. Unfortunately DX2 keeps throwing them in my face, with bells on.
And when did "whiner" come to mean, "Someone with expectations of a quality product"?
