What? I've only seen something about a vote for de Gaulle.
Low turnout and a few things in the coverage (MLP leaving her HQ with a big smile and reports of somber mood at Macron's) made me fear the worst. I'm very glad that wasn't warranted.

I'm relieved that Macron seems to have it. Having a pro-elite money man in the top seat is all manner of bullshit for sure, and it will good if the parliament can rein that in, but it beats having to leave the country, which is what I was bracing for if Le Pen got in.

I'm also relieved even though Europe now feels closed to me. But my heart is over there.

. . . who will be next, first the "Middle Easterns" and then everyone whose family names don't sound french at all (like mine) ?
I've rather given up arguing, I just endlessly quote this (shorter version).
Quote:
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Man, I hate his guts.

A couple of people are screaming on my Facebook wall about the death of France, and the oncoming establishment of the European Caliphate.
...made me think Le Pen lost. Came here. Looks like I was right.

The worst election ever: the nationalist against the liberalist... So extremist against other extremist.

Seems to be a lot of that going around lately.

Well, no surprises here. Le Pen shot herself in the foot during the last debate, probably the worst performance I've ever seen in a debate. So embarrassing it was hilarious. Naturally Macron had to win, there was no way he wouldn't. Also, I've never seen so much partisanism from the media for a candidate, ever. It was absolutely surreal and frankly disgusting. Just absolute propaganda. They created Macron and put him where he is right now. He can definitely thank them for a job well done.
Don't let his good looks and young age fool you. As I said earlier, the guy comes from the Rothschild bank and the most unpopular government in recent memory, has had awful results with said government that squandered millions to corporations, wants to further liberalize the labor market, lay off tens of thousands of workers, further cut the pensions that are already indecently low and some other funny ultra-liberal things that make me want to throw up. The only good thing with all this is that the massive voter abstention and blank ballots will make him a de facto unpopular president, and we now have three opposition parties instead of one. The objective right now (for me at least) is to prevent him from governing as much as possible through legislative elections. Only Mélenchon's Left can put a stop to his politics.

Very classy. Where has Briareos said he loved Trump? I hate Macron too, did I love Le Pen then?
Pro-tip: I didn't.
