I've almost completed the Main Quest, but I'm rather bored with running errands, so I thought I'd sidetrack and do the Vampire Quests for awhile. My character is level 50, and every time I fight a vampire, I accidentally kill it. I'm trying to get the silly things to bite me, but all they do is slap me and poke at me with knives. How do you provoke these silly beaters into BITING you without breaking them in half?

They wont 'bite' you so don't bother waiting for them to do so.
When they attack with magic there is no chance of you contracting vampirism.
You have to be attacked with either weapons or fists to be in with a chance of catching the disease.
The disease which causes vampirism is a common disease so if you have immunity to common disease you need to go get a weakness to common disease spell.
If your lucky you'll get the disease with the first 5 mins of them attacking you if your not it could take 30mins to an hour - be patient.
Vampires seem to vary in how easily they pass on the disease - this fluctuates but suffice to say you might walk into one vampire and get the disease in 5 mins another vampire may take far longer.
If you want to become a vampire dont attack them and certainly dont kill them!
Let them attack you (without attacking back) for as long as it takes just keep a healthy supply of restore health potions, scrolls, enchantments.
Any further questions about clans, locations, stats etc i'd advise you to use the search function as there have been many threads asking questions concerning vampires.

Thank you for replying so promptly! Like I said, I've almost completed the MQ, so I'm already immune to diseases (the whores just love me now!), so I'll have to look for that spell you suggested. I'm not so very popular with the Mages Guild right now, so I don't know how much luck I'll have.
I swear I didn't really mean to kill all those vampires. I was only using my wimply hand-to-hand skill (at a mere 50, I didn't think I could actually kill them so fast). Didn't think I was such a tough ninja!
Don't need help finding the lairs as I've visted them all frequently. Unfortunately, I think I've almost wiped them out and probably broken most of the vampire quests. But at least I was able to release most of the cattle. Those Khajits are just so squishably cute!
