Fuck it, I've enjoyed this thread, so have some others. What's the big deal? You want a super cool thread which doesn't push any of your righteous indignation buttons? Go and fucking start one and hang around in there. Call me odd, but if I see a thread title which doesn't interest me, I don't click it. I'd have be one obstreperous fucker to actually decide that because it didn't interest me, it was time to kick the door open and start hosing people with caustic invective about how they're misguided. Unless I thought I was flawless somehow.

I actually like Koki's link. I'm a sucker for piano and strings.
Also, piano and vocals. I guess I'll just have to link one of the best early moments from Cowboy Bebop here. Works so much better in context, but if you've seen the show, you know which one I'm talking about. It's a fantastic moment.

I don't like the song in the first post, but I'm glad people have risen to the challenge and posted their own ideas of beautiful music. If we all commented on every suggestion the thread would be awash with quotes, multiquotes, nested quotes etc and it would become easy to miss new links. And it's still an improvement on the youtube thread.
Years and years ago the BBC showed a series called They Who Dare, about extreme sports dudes, but what struck me was the theme tune, which I never forgot. And yet, only with this thread did it occur to me to type the programme's name into youtube and see if any of the commenters had asked what the tune was.
