Speaking of custom tracks, I've started making custom tracks!
For my first track, I adapted one of my fave videogame tunes of the year, "Free Money" from Pikuniku.

The editor is quite intricate, you gotta set up all the lighting and background animation in addition to mapping out the beats.
VA, if you really want autogenerated maps, check out AudioShield. Tracks generated by the computer are never as fun as those made by people tho.

Nice job, henke! How long did it take you to do the level, start to finish?

Maybe 1-2 hours. It's a short level but I did a lot of testing to find sequences that felt good to play. A lot of the times I'd map something out that looked pretty good in the editor, but once you play it it's immediately apparent it doesn't feel right.
Also working on a couple more tracks.

I've started to mess around with the level editor myself. One thing that I found out early is that the Test level button plays the whole song, and I haven't found a way to exit the level early. I wanted to see if I'd gotten a decent opening 30 seconds, and it was frustrating to have to let the next 2 1/2 minutes play out. Am I missing something, or do you have to listen to the whole song every time you test the level?

Are you using the official level editor? Not sure if there's even a way to share maps made with that. I'm using (
https://github.com/squeaksies/MediocreMapper) Mediocre Mapper, which is very powerful, tho also filled to the brim with memes. :erg:
If you're gonna delve into it I highly recommend watching the tutorials by BennyDaBeast.

Yeah, I'm using the official level editor. I'll have to check out Mediocre Mapper. The official editor is very bare bones, and isn't super intuitive to use. Thanks for the link.

If you didn't like my last track, I assure you, this one is even worse.

In other Beat Saber news, they added 6 more songs at the end of August.

A new update just released that adds 360 and 90 degree tracks. Tempted fate and gave them in a whirl in my wired setup. It went ok, only punched my desk once. Initially they didn't feel as intuitive and satisfying to play as the linear tracks, but after a few songs I got into the habit of moving my legs and jumping around a lot more and it clicked. Legend, Unlimited Power, and Crab Rave worked especially well in 360.
