Ah-ha, of course. And she's in far more episodes as "computer voice" than as Troi.
I never even realised that she was Roddenberry's wife, since she's never credited as Roddenberry. It gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "married to his computer".

She was great as the voice of LCARS though, but utterly unremarkable as the recurring nurse on TOS.
Have to disagree. I always found her Nurse Chapel, with that melancholy unrequited love for Spock, quite touching. (She made him soup!) MBR was beautiful, intelligent and stayed true to the fans. RIP! <3

I'm pretty sure her executive producer credit was always Barrett-Roddenberry.

Awww damn! I really liked Majel Barrett as Luwaxanna Troi and thought that as annoying as she could get, she portrayed that character flawlessly. In fact, I just finished watching TNG in its entirety and was once again charmed by her performances and thought that she had a few very good scenes in which she proved her worth as an actress. I have to admit that as Nurse Chapel she was rather unremarkable, though.
Most likely a little known fact: Majel appeared on an episode of Babylon 5 as the third wife of the Centauri emperor. B5 fans will recall that Centauri Ambassador Londo Molari wanted her to fortell his future since she was a 'Seer' of sorts. I felt that she did a passable portrayal, just a tad stilted at times.
Still and all, this was sad news indeed.
Go with God, Majel.
