I don't give two shits about Battletech and I'm still considering buying this just because it's nice to finally feel recognized.
This isn't making you "recognized". Were that the case the appropriate pronoun would be "it".

I love how upset some people can get at a completely optional feature. It's like those who whined because you could have Shepard be a gay male in Mass Effect 3, even though there was nothing stopping you from making him as straight as an arrow.
I'm perfectly okay with a game having a gender neutral option so as to be more inclusive with it's representation. What I'm not okay with is releasing a game as badly optimized as Battletech currently is.
This I don't get. It's literally one button, that's completely non-obtrusive and you don't even see it again unless you choose to. It's not like this is a fucking Bioware game where you're constantly being beat over the head by plotlines written by a dev who loves the smell of his own farts.

Oh no :(. That's the worst news I've heard in a while. Seems to always be the way. Make some great games. Get noticed, then get bought out. Fast forward 2 years later and everyone has usually by that point left (as they don't like the new direction their forced to work in) or been fired.
You'd think the company heads (eg Weisman) after being under FASA Corp which then got bought out by Microsoft and was a shadow of their former selves thereafter.
Truly sad day. I doubt we'll be seeing any more Kickstarters by them. Gone will be that indie spirit + the risk taking that comes with that. I'm really sad about this as Shadowrun and Battletech were some of my favorite franchises. And it is very likely due to those franchises that they got bought out. Sad, sad day :(.
R.I.P Harebrained Schemes. You join with Bullfrog, Origin and so many others, whose fates went the exact same way.

Be honest, Tony: most people are "its" to you, aren't they?
