Anyone reading this thread expecting not to be spoiled is mentally handicapped.

Absolutely. I like how a few things were left mysterious, to keep us guessing.
When you have Kara spending half a season screaming "What am I?!?!", that's a subtle little hint to the audience that, at some point, the question will be answered. And as it turns out, the answer was that Ron Moore didn't have a fucking clue, so he just vanished her. Why was there a body and a wrecked Viper for her to find on Earth? Because Mr. Moore thought it would be cool, and explaining it be damned.
But then, Mr. Moore doesn't much like to explain things. All the other wildly improbable events (including the parallel evolution bit at the end) he hand-waved with an almost literal "A wizard did it." BSG is supposed to be a faux-realistic science fiction show, not smegging Lord of the Rings.
And don't even get me started on all the survivors cheerfully throwing away all their technology, then scattering themselves all over the planet to die.

Kara's an "angel" dammit! How many times was that emphasized?:tsktsk:

I loved it. Some folks seem trapped inside the 'what BSG is supposed to be, rather than seeing what it evolved into'. I think it was brilliantly executed. No show is perfect, so there were some missteps, but over all...what an amazing series.
I don't give a rats ass that everything wasn't explained to me at the end. I don't need to know what Kara was. She didn't know and that's fine. As Ron said in the interview posted, they debated clarifying it in the writers room....so obviously they had some direction with it, but I'm glad they chose not to label her. Just leave it in the minds of the viewer to ponder. I hate shows that hand everything to me on a silver platter. Let me think for myself...let me wonder for awhile.
Mr. Moore and his team did..and I thank them.

They DID label her!:laff:

Having said that, I don't think it could possibly have been good, so it's not like I'm disappointed. I'm just glad it's over.

So you somehow missed the constant references to God, The Gods, God's Plan, destiny, angels, etc. during THE ENTIRE RUN OF THE SHOW?
Good job.

Reality is full of delusional halfwits who actually believe in a magic sky wizard too. And yet, fiction set in the real world oh-so-rarely resolves all plot points with "God did it!". This sort of thing is the prototypical example of a
deus ex machina, and it's a symptom of supremely lazy writing.

Jesus ZB, rereading the topic you've posting pretty much nothing but negative comments about this show since around season 3. I'm saying this should be an all-positive topic with negativity verboten. Criticism is ok, the show isn't perfect. That said, if you hate it so much why do you still bother, for fuck's sake? When I stopped liking Lost at the end of Season 2, I stopped watching, and I'm not fagging up the Lost threads about how much the show sucks. Just leave it, switch channels and get the fuck out.

It was established in Season fucking One that the actual existence of a divine higher power is an integral part of the BSG universe.
For the slow, I'm directly referring to Baltar's "spectral" Six, etc.

People use the term "angel" and "god", and the like, to describe what they don't understand of the cycling Matrix program.;)
