Apollo going against his father's orders back in season 2 (I think that's when it was when Apollo basically backed the Prez) was treason.
Again, wrong. Lee sided with the President when ordered (illegally) to take the president into custody by then Commander Adama. The order to take the president into custody was treasonous, as the only thing she did wrong was disagree with Adama, and ask the fleet to wait with her at Kobol.
And here's something to think of for the 'Gaeta was actually right' camp: the only accusation that Gaeta made that held any water was 'abandonment of his post' when he ordered the ships that were still space-borne to jump away from New Caprica. Okay. But what about the general amnesty and pardon that the President declared for all of the unlawful acts pertaining to the New Caprica debacle? Doesn't that apply to Adama as well (and potentially even the Cylons, depending on how colonial citizenship works. As the heirs to the 13th tribe of Kobol, are they not technically colonials already?)

I seem to remember that she also blatantly suborned Starbuck into flying off with an important strategic asset during a time of war, while on a drug fueled bender and under the influence of loony-tunes religious fundamentalists.

@Fafhrd: At least I'm not saying that Gaeta was right. I'm saying that Gaeta had a point, that a hell of a lot of other people in BSG were let off scot-free for doing things as questionable, and that the ethics of the situation aren't clear-cut - and that I would have hoped for at least some of the characters to have a bit more understanding for what Gaeta did. Baltar does, and it's possibly one of his most genuine moments ever in the series, but apart from that?
But the series seems just a bit too much stuck in its adoration of Bill Adama at this point. Yes, he's a great character. Yes, he's probably the main reason why they're all still alive. But he is a bit of a pompous, self-righteous git too, and there's a touch of hypocrisy in what he does. At the very least he's not very good at listening to dissenting voices. (Arguably he doesn't have to be as a military commander.)

Gaeta is an idiot. Gaeta dies. Zareck is an idiot. Zareck dies. I like this show.
:P
Zareck is like Baltar with balls, he only cares about himself and his power and popularity. He's a dictator in the waiting, and it's been clear in the series pretty much since he first appeared. Gaeta surprised me, though, he was a pretty cool character until he decided to lie at the trial, totally out of nowhere (to me, that action doesn't fit the character as shown up until then), and from then on, has been behaving like a jackass. He seems to have rebelled more out of bitterness and spite than having the good of the fleet in his mind. The look of jealousy he gave to Dee when she was happy and singing before blowing her head off, the tone of voice when talking with everyone... He's just taking revenge, not saving people. Which is a bit of a shame, because this leaves no genuine anti-cylon pro-humanity character in the show, they are just on ego trips, and that makes Adama and Roslin look like Jesus and Superman toghether, which they are not. To me, the only genuinely morally good character in the series is Apollo (well, and that cylon dude who was resisting on the medical experimentation planet), with a few close seconds.
Anyways, the show needs more evil cylons, the current ones are too nice (except the advisor girl, she's a b*tch).

Really? That's not the impression that I got. I always felt like Zareck was looking for something to die for, something to make him a martyr. He's had a near-suicidal streak of plans since the very beginning. Arguably he's a criminal who doesn't know how to be anything else. Even in this latest arc, the first thing he does when someone disagrees is kill them. Ironically, one of the very things he accused Adama of doing.
Baltar is a survivor. He does whatever it takes to keep ticking. Even in the case of his power with the religious people. He understands on some level that they're all just completely goddamn insane, but he had been using them as protection. In one of the last couple episodes, on the Cylon baseship he mentions wanting to go back for them, because he abandoned them. And he did. The second mutiny broke out he instantly gave up whatever power he had over them and found a better place to hide.

Yes, that's absolutely true, thing is I just see both of them as egoistical morons, just one has the balls (or the crazies) to go all the way through to get what he wants and the other one scurries around dark corners.
Then again, Baltar kind of understands what he is and sometimes shows glimpses of decenthood, whereas Zareck is totally deluded about his own righteousness.
All in all, I agree.
Also, Cavil doesn't make an ounce of sense, he's complaining about his human "faults" while still using human logic (flawed and self indulgent) and human desires. Pft.

I want to know where imaginary 6 and imaginary Baltar (who has appeared to both Baltar and Caprica 6) have been for the past 6-7 episodes.
They used to be a big part of the show.

This past episode was pretty weak, but it was good to see Baltar back in action.
I'm getting iffy about how this show is gonna end. There's only a few episodes left.

Yep, I don't think they're going to wrap up everything nicely, but I certainly hope it'll at least be highly entertaining. :)
