I refuse to acknowledge this 2.0/2.5 inanity. There's just Season 2, with a three-month break between episodes 10 and 11. Pretty much the same thing SciFi channel has been doing with Stargate for years.
(
http://www.gateworld.net/news/2006/07/scifitostartremainingepiso.shtml) This time it will be 6 months.

Resurrection, in this case, seems appropriate and preferable over starting a new thread.
So. Did everyone see the latest episode? Probably not, otherwise that would be all anyone would be talking about around here.
Buy (iTunes), download, borrow a (*shudder*) taped copy if you have to. This is the television event of the year! Ships falling from the sky, mind-fucks of the cruelest kind. Hot hot toaster on toaster action! Watch it! Talk about it!

Okay, so everytime I'm channel-surfing and I come across Battlestar Galactica, I pause for a moment because everyone here is so enamoured with it and I want to see what's so great.
And every time I do this, I see the exact same thing - a man with a horribly pock-marked face talking on the phone to a woman with dark glasses, and those damn shakey cameras that are trying to fool me into thinking the most exciting thing that could possibly happen in interstellar conflict is that two people might have a telephone conversation between spaceships.
And it keeps cutting back and forth between him and her, shaking shaking shaking and it's boring and nauseating simultaneously.
All right I know I'm totally not getting it, but it can't just be a coincidence that of the five-or-so times I've passed this show, it really has been what I've described!

Yes TheMuffinMan, I did see the episode in question last night; airs on saturdays here in canada (opps I see your from Alberta). I really enjoyed it and it would have to be one of the few episodes that really hit the nail on the head; 33, pegasus, resurrection ship part 1 and hand of god would be others I would consider in that category.

Now your just being silly since there was none of that in the episode.

I live in eternal hope. Oh, and Ontario.
But that bit with KC? Just when everyone is thinking it's really Starbuck's kid they swing it so that it's just another one of Leoben's little games. Now that's a mind-fuck.
Chimpy Chompy on 23/10/2006 at 00:57
^^I sincerely hope so! Those two haven't yet had a chance to interact this season.
Anyway, yeah, Exodus pt2 was awesome and intense. 'splodey ship action and some great character moments. Tigh poisoning his wife was heartbreaking.

Opps again, must have been looking at Aja's location and not TheMuffinMan's.
In regard to the "mind-fuck"
I had already knew in the premiere that it couldn't/shouldn't be Starbucks kid since the already mentioned they couldn't create hybrids in the farms in the second season.
Yeah but for a moment you so totally forget about it... Also agree on what Chompy said, I couldn't stand her but that part is really well done.
I'm not sorry to resurrect this, I can't believe BSG season 3's received so few comments while there's a whole Lost thread active across the street.
I'm at ep.03/12 right now and every single time this show continues to amaze me. It reached its lowest point somewhere mid-season 2 and it's gone a long way since.
Some of the space battles in the first four episode got me completely staring at the screen like an idiot for being so gorgeous. One scene especially really made me jump on my chair, I couldn't believe what I was watching. Atmo-jump, I mean, HOLY SHIT!! Pure joy.
I really love how the recent shots of Galactica show how damaged she is. She's really battered and you can almost feel the ship literally falls apart at every occasion.
I can't get enough. :thumb: :thumb:

The fact that someone else agrees the show sank down mid-season 2 gives me heart.
I do plan on watching Season 3 when it comes on DVD, as it still shows potential. What I don't get is why they have not killed off Kara Thrace - or more specifically, why she is given a leadership role. She's a great pilot, but is the poster child for a poor leader. She acts recklessly without thinking, endangering all around her. She's not particularly intelligent. She has poor control of her emotions. And she's really, really annoying.
The end of season 2.5 was really cool until the last line, which I thought was really dopey and unnecessary. I realize that the point of the show is NOT to be "good humans vs. bad cylons" and I really appreciate that. But the show DOES spend the vast majority of the time focusing on the humans, and so I feel some of them should be likable instead of bigoted morons. And some of them are - they just devote too much screen time to those who aren't. Billy was one of the two sane people on the ship and they killed him. Well, at least there's still Gaeda. Even if he's probably a cylon.
My dad ditched the series so I'll be watching season 3 solo. Weee.
