"Boosters" are used for rapid acceleration.
Yeah sorry, I meant thrusters (what the space shuttle uses).

It seems that most everyone here liked DS9. I, admittedly, haven't seen many of the episodes. The few that I have seen were centered around that greedy little bastard and his stupid bar. Those put me off on the whole thing. So, my question to you people is this: Was I just unlucky in tuning in to the wrong episodes or do you guys really like that greedy little bastard and his stupid bar?

Absolutely love the new Battlestar series. Best Sci-Fi I have seen in a LONG time. How many sci-fi shows have smoking, their own swear words (frak being most common), sex scenes, bad guys that dont make sense until alot later and GREAT battle scenes.
Having seen the season finale via bittorrent I`m DYING for the 2nd season so I can find out the outcome.
On the other sci-fi shows, I was never a huge fan of DS9. The main reason for that was because of the first few seasons being very dull, and then Babylon 5 started up and that completely drew all of my interest from start to finish.
SG-1 I totally love and have most of the seasons of on DVD, though I`m starting to wonder how many times they`ll resort to doing "virus breaks out on base" episodes. Those are REALLY starting to get old.

Well since you asked-- Space: Above and Beyond, Babylon 5, and Farscape.

Well, I can't wait for the next season. It's had a really great start so far. Damn them and their cliffhangers.

Ok, super necromancy!
Season 2.5 (WTF? Shouldn't it be called Season 3?) is coming out in September. I was watching the series with my dad, and we quite enjoyed the first season (with the exception of that stupid Zack episode) but in the second season it just took a nosedive - the 'lets kill off everyone' thing was fine for a few episodes but it ended up just turning into a total soap opera (George...I'm pregnant!), ala the later seasons of Buffy. Is this just the series current course? Is the rest of season 2 like this? Or does it bring back some of the humor, fresh ideas, and action? Season 1 moved at a very brisk pace but with Season 2 they just kept hammering in the same themes over and over and over. Plus, the Cylons just decided to not attack for almost a whole season/

They Have A Plan.
I thought they took a break for a couple of months, so they called it 2.5 for the rest of the Spring. Fairly sure they're calling it 3 for the fall. Or so the podcast for Lay Down Your Burden, pt 2 mentions. Maybe an internal/external difference?
I caught up using ShoutCAST, which keeps cutting out, so I've missed more than I'd like to have.
I'm really enjoying it.

yeah, it was Season 2.0 and 2.5 because Sci-Fi did the weird split season thing they do. Season 3 starts in October, and looks crazy awesome based on the teaser they showed during the Eureka premier.
