Battle Questions... - by Kiriki

Hey Everyone, I've been enjoying the game and trying to figure out how it "all" works, but I'm stumped. I went thru a Tomb last night and killed a Dremora Lord, Winged Twilight, and Fire Atronach. Ran through and killed all three on one dose of potions and spells, (before they ran out). It was awesome, my best Tomb yet! :thumb:
So, pumped up and confident I went on to the nearby Ruins. (This all takes place near Hla Oad) I could see my "first" Frost Atron., so potioned and spelled myself and went in to take him on... he wooped me 4 times! I gave up for now, but I'm wondering, how can I tell what spell or? that he used on me? If his level is lower than the Dremora Lord and Winged Twilight then how is it he is the one I couldn't yet beat? I used resist, and frost shields etc.
While I was there I went in under invisiblity and checked out the Fire Atron. and two ORCS who are in the ruins also. What's up with 2 ORCS standing around not getting attacked by the Atronachs?:wot: Are they the "ones who worship bad Deadra" I've been getting told about?

the frost atronach shoots frost. And they are resistent to frost.
Fire atronachs have a weakness to frost. So if you fight with some sort of frost , then that's your answer. Orcs are always at the ruins, don't know if they are the one's worshiping though.
I think it's irritating when the creatures don't attack other people then yourself.
Like the ones standing in the wilderness.

Thank You Sappe, :) I had assumed he'd use frost, so I used resist frost and frost shield, along with some fortify attributes on myself but was using fire spells on him; the weapon I used was just a Silver Short enchanted with a soul trap spell.
On the others (Fire Atron., WingTwi., and DremoraLord I used the same exact sword, and same potions/spells on myself substituting frost shield with Fire shield. I didn't think I stood a chance with the Dremora Lord so didn't even try using any spells on him or the other two at all. It just doesn't make sense to me :weird: When I fought the Frost A though it took my 112hp down in barely over 3 hits. Whatever he did was powerful. Guess I'll try him again after I mix up new potions. Thanks a bunch for the advice, if anyone else has any ideas or tips I'd love to read them!:thumb:

If you look in the lower right of your screen you can see all the spells that are affecting you, and if you open up your inventory you can mouse over the icons to get some info about them. So when the Frost Atronoch hits you with a spell you can go into inventory and see what spell he hit you with, and also how long it lasts (length of time it takes for the icon to dissapear)

:idea: Thanks Hidden! I've used those to see what the diff. blessings do at altars... but I'm new at this and always get so adrenaline-ized when I'm fighting the higher creatures so I hadn't even thought of doing that. :laff:
