battery park conundrum... - by steppin' razor

i'm in the process of sneaking around in the NSF hidey hole, and want to get into the room with the safe. unfortunately, i've got a distinct lack of lockpicks. is there a key, and if so, where?
i'm also having an issue talking to Billy, the kid in the kiosk. whenever i right click on him, nothing happens, except the music skips for a second. this was happening before aswell, with some of the UNATCO troops walking around Liberty Island after i did the first level, but i just assumed i had nothing to say to them and vice versa... i'm not worried about not talking to the troops, but i want my skill points from Billy.
thanks much,

I always love to blast that door open with the GEP 'cause it blasts the safe open as well, very convenient. :cheeky: I don't remember if there's a key. Try using the key ring, if nothing happens, there isn't a key, if it goes through the unlocking-the-door animation, there's a key to find somewhere.
Dunno 'bout the kid though... never ran into that bug...

ok, thanks. i'm still curious about the kid, but i haven't played since i posted that, so maybe it was just an odd one time thing. i eventually realized i had two LAMs in my inventory and blew the door to bits with one of those. but i still like to take the silent approach, and a LAM isn't exactly quiet... oh well, guess that's what i get for picking every lock i come across.

Its possible that you scared the kid if you brandished a weapon in front of him. He will calm down, if thats the case. Otherwise, I don't know.

no, that wasn't it, i've done that before. i dunno what it was, just some mommentary glitch, i think. when i loaded the game up the next time, i started before that and had no trouble talking to him. *shrug*
