What I find puzzling about the PC disaster: NVIDIA used Arkham Knight as a showcase for NVIDIA Gameworks-specific features. Why would you do that and then not ensure that the port is at least solid?

Sons of bitches. They knew the situation before the release and decided to release and hope for a patch day 1 to fix things. I'm so glad I asked for a refund for this wreck. I was stupid enough to pre-order it, just because "it's rocksteady ffs" and I knew I was going to buy it anyway. This after I promised to myself never to pre-order again. Guess I'll take it as a lesson and go on. I'll wait for a sale and then buy again maybe.
Anyway, hopefully it's going to be even harder now for AK to defeat Witcher 3 for GOTY, at least on PC.
EDIT: They suspended the sales because of a huge of amount of refunds, not because they "value the customers".

Steam's refund system claims its first trophy kill! :cheeky:

I remember Arkham City's PC version got released way later than the console versions, but it worked quite well once it came out. Maybe Rocksteady didn't want to listen to the whining about that again and just tossed it out before it was done?
Um... didn't Arkham City run like crap at launch and have a ton of other problems?

It did. Frankly Rocksteady suck at optimizing their games for PC. Only Origins run like butter for me while City is still plagued by slight stuttering while gliding on DX10 with physics at max.

Yeah, I probably just forgot. Right, GFWL....

Arkham City wasn't in as bad of shape as Knight when it launched, but anybody who bought it when it came out should remember the massive DirectX 11 issues it had (and continues to have, as they were never really fixed all that well).

Looks like they thought better of it and removed it from Steam.

Not quite, there was issues with the DX11 version of the game (DX9 version worked relatively fine though). Also GFWL was doing what it did best, erasing people's saves (thankfully they've subsequently patched that shit out).

Not entirely related, but microsoft hasn't gotten much better than that. I've got a micro-laptop that I use when I'm on the road and I bought a couple of games on the windows app store using the gift card that came with it.
The catch is that they all use a live sign in. Whenever I'm somewhere I don't have internet(such as on a long plane ride) I can't access my saves.
