For the record, the Silver Age ended in the 1970s, though exactly when depends on who you ask. (For me it's when Jack Kirby moved to DC in 1970.)
The 1970s up to the mid-80s is generally accepted to be the "Bronze Age" of comic books, and that's when comics started getting more serious and tackling contemporary issues and bucking CCA authority.
BTW, it was Green Lantern and Green Arrow with the story "Hard Travelin' Heroes."
Evabot just gets all his info from 9gag and Superdickery and is summarily banned from talking about comic books.

The Golden Age was the 40s and early 50s. You're not that old.

Everyone knows the "golden age" is whatever came out when you were a kid, which is why Eva is all about the grimdark Nolan bullshit. That's the only reason I can explain actually liking super-serious Batman, as even TAS and the Burton films were silly as hell.

The "golden age" is different from the "Golden Age" which is an accepted, established time period, though.
Evabot just thinks that comics were either Nolan or superdickery with nothing in between.

From a Brit's perspective, I'd argue that we've had a massive influence on comics in their current form, in particular thanks to artists and writers who worked for 2000AD. That kinda gets ignored by an American audience mostly unaware of the existence of an industry outside of their borders.

Don't forget that a lot of UK writers went to work for DC and Marvel -- Warren Ellis, Garth Ennis, Grant Morrison, Alan Moore, the list goes on.

Currently reading a very good book by a Spaniard author, it's a historical analysis of the surgence of the graphic novel which takes on the very way-back historical roots from various places, lots of references to several creators and their work. Good stuff, good stuff.
Er...yes...Batman: Arkham Knight. Looking good, nu?
Cheers!
