Does it strike anyone else as odd that there are so many bathrooms in Deus Ex? Almost every location has a few.
How's that surprising? Honestly, I thought some places didn't have enough. Like Chateau DuClare, a giant mansion but only one bathroom? Most small apartments here have two. The Underworld Bar also had only two toilets IIRC, which isn't very many for a public place like that.

They're NANO-toilets. They can process human waste as quickly as ten conventional toilets!

Consider building codes. The DuClare mansion was built at least before World War II, according to game lore. Typical buildings now require different numbers of bathrooms depending on their zoning (residential, industrial, commercial), and on the square footage, but in the days when that mansion was built, the floor layout, including the bathroom, and the fact that it only has one, doesn't seem particularly unreasonable. The fact that the Underworld Bar had only two also doesn't seem unreasonable, since many old buildings in New York are exempt from modern building codes, i.e. they have a "grandfather clause."

Erm, I wasn't aware that the time required for a person to use the bathroom was due to the toilet being slow. What do they do in Deus Ex, suck it out of you as soon as you approach and boot you from the stall?
Wait, don't answer that.

Ah yes, the Recycle canister that installs into the little used and highly unpopular (for some) Colon augmentation slot.
