The audio editing job on that is awful. A pale shadow of the glories of (

Man, I really wish he would re-upload the MP3s of most of his stuff, it's been down for YEARS. "Boys and Girls" is a classic.

True, there isn't a lot of evidence.
The impression I'm getting is that there's a vague realization that the voting system in the USA is a corrupt mess, but that nobody really knows who to blame. As a result finger-pointing is a fairly effective PR tactic.
edit: actually, that pretty much explains the "Republican Rage". Their own party quickly betrayed their own ideals once elected, the economy has crashed(and still seems to be getting worse as work for has become almost impossible to find for blue-collar workers), an endless "war on terror" drags on with no end in sight and no tangible result, corruption and crime (seem) to be growing more widespread on a daily basis, and America's international prestige is plummeting.
Things are going to shit, but they either don't have any idea who's responsible or are unwilling to look critically at people who contributed because of a blind devotion to "big business is good" capitalism. There's a lot of pent up rage, but no target. As a result, scapegoating is a good way to direct that rage. Especially if its an organization like ACORN which has been show to be corrupt.

Of course it did. Why would it be fake?
Because people edit videos for fun.
Trance on 21/11/2009 at 16:37

It's worth noting that Card himself is a right-wing idealogue who tends to make inflammatory statements.
Yes, I am quite familiar with Mr. Card's political stance... Then again, he does have a point... I wonder what he would say (says?) about the present situation, where it seems the right wing is noticeably much more aggressive.

"But we're at war, and electing a president who is committed to losing it seems to be the most foolish thing we could do."
I wonder if he is one of the (increasingly few) people claiming that war has actually been won... That said - you know that no war-time US president who ran for the second term has ever lost, right? In other words, I would say this kind of thinking is more American in general than right-wing specifically.

Plus, the description of
Empire sounds a little...um...polarized itself.
Hey, it's a novel about a civil war between the left and the right wing in the United States - what did you expect? It is true, however, that there is so much right-wing rhetoric in
Empire that I read most of it with a scowl on my face (to present one particularly scowl-worthy example, apparently the rest of the world would get overrun by terrorists if it weren't for the US taking military actions against them abroad... sheesh). Which doesn't change the fact that in spite of what certain reviewers might say, the conflict described in that novel
could happen.

Trying to sneak weasel words past us? Tut tut... If you don't agree with Aerothorn that there is
no evidence, say it - and provide us with something in support of the opposite.

...because OBVIOUSLY it is not the voting system itself so there would be no point in changing it, by making presidential elections direct for instance

Other blue states officially recognize the legitimacy of the group, thus starting a second civil war.
Except there's this little thing called the line of succession that I suspect most blue states would actually uphold first.

That didn't actually happen, did it?
I sometimes really wonder whether Enchantermon is unaware that people are taking the piss at him or if he's taking the piss at the piss-takers. :p

In the interests of further confusion, I shall offer up as an answer only the efficacious and wonderfully ambiguous :sly:.

Yeah, the grammar helps.
