Well I accepted the quest and unlike during my first run, a proper suitcase icon has showed on the Dark Valley map where the factory is. I had already cleaned out the factory before and didn't found any Storming Obokan (or Abakan, since I use real weapon names mod). I returned to the factory, now it is repopulated by few bandits who fight with soldiers. The suitcase icon is on top of some heavily radiated concrete junk in factory area, but there isn't any weapon to be found around. I don't get it.

Basically, you probably killed Friar (he's the guy who carries the Storming Abakan) previously, and that broke the mission.

:(
He could have had that gun before I took that quest anyway so I would be able to give it back to the owner later. Oh well.

Well, he actually does have that gun. I once found him in the Agroprom underground on the first time I went there. If you say that you never came across the weapon, then maybe he was killed in an anomaly, or by mutants.

I have canceled that quest - pity I had to, I haven't failed any so far so it's a black mark on my record. But if i come across that gun I keep it for myself, this time I fell for various special versions of AK74 and Abakans. I use sniping Abakan, and if i mount a scope on "Rapid" AK74 I feel so l33t with it.
These Russian weapons are noisy, not so accurate and tend to break often, but I find additional challenge in using them. They also fit the environment more, there are just too many types of NATO guns in the Zone.

My weapon of choice is always the modified (
http://world.guns.ru/assault/as09-e.htm) OC-14 Groza. Which is also a russian weapon, not very accurate, and you can't even adapt a scope to it. For some reason, hitting enemies without using a scope seems to be more satisfying for me :)

Groza is good, light and compact and implemented grenade thrower as a bonus, and yuo can find plenty of 9x39s for it in the final phase in Power Plant. :thumb:

The modifed one is even better for the most part of the game, because it uses 5.45x39 ammo (the same as AK74), which is very easy to find.
