Hi, one of the distinguished patrons of the Duty bar gives you a mission to recover a weapon from the Dark Valley, but as far as I can tell the location isn't listed on the map (this is not the Family Rifle mission). Can someone give me a pointer to it? thx!

Maybe the mission is broken? I never had any problem with that mission. The weapon in question is a Storming Obokan, and is in the hands of a bandit, who usually hangs around at the factory where you're supposed to get part of the key to lab X16 (this is in the Dark Valley), so the weapon location isn't always the same, since the bandit moves around a bit. If you look at the map of the Dark Valley (by pressing 'm', I'm not talking about the minimap that you see when you press 'p'), I suppose that the weapon location should show as a small suitcase icon.

I think I have found him at the pig farm in Southern Dark Valley also.

I usually find the bandit hanging around in the basement at Agroprom.

Question is, does he has Storming Obokan even if the player doesn't accept the quest. In case I'd like to keep that rifle and don't botch any quest ?

You can also keep the weapon, fail the quest, then go back to the NPC when you're done with the rifle and accept the quest again.
