The poll function is okay, but some people abuse it, using topics like "Poll: Do you like me ?", "Poll: Coke or Soda", "Poll: teh TP polll" I think these subjects are totally not interesting. Then we have people that want to let us know that they hate polls and post a poll like this "Poll: your first thoughts when u see another dumbass poll?" or "Poll: Do you hate polls as much as I do?" Why do they need a poll for that ? If you look at tumbleweeds thread, he doesn`t use the poll function does he ?
I know that the communitie chat forum is a place were you can post about anything you want, but I think this is getting a little out of hand.

Yes, please <i>please</i> do something about them... :erm: As much as I loved the little tinkering GBM (and Hanse?) have been doing, it doesn't seem to get the point across.
I mean, I honestly <b>thought</b> they'd sort of.. just go away after a while, when the novelty wore off, but nooo...
I'm not saying that polls can't be useful, they can. But the way they're mostly used now to spam is plain ebil.
And It's not that I mind polls per se, but they do take away one of the things that I enjoy most about reading the forums:
The well thought out (ok, so not always, but often ;) ) arguments for or against something or other.
This is now reduced to a simple poll, which doesnt generate any interesting discussion whatsoever. Mostly it just provokes knee-jerk reactions against polls.
