When I try to access your main page, (
http://www.ttlg.com,) www.ttlg.com, I find that you have a link to a banner that causes Netscape to crash. I think it starts with:
(
http://banners.pennyweb.com/americancancer/HPA) http://banners.pennyweb.com/americancancer/HPA banner_468x60-5.jpg
I get a "404 file not found" while trying to display the above, and then Netscape 4.77 stops working. It appears to come up, but it will not make a connection to any file or site after that event. The only way to get Netscape back is to reboot the computer. IE works OK.
Don't tell me to use IE. This is war! :)

Okay well first off, Netscape sucks. :p Use IE!
On a more serious note, I just emailed Cybereps (our ads people), as its not our code that is causing the error, its theirs. I'll try and fix the problem as soon as I hear from them. Thanks for your patience!

Thanks very much, Saam
Yes, I know all about Netscape's quality problems. Still, I like many of the features in Netscape 4.7x better. Also, I like to participate in the Holy War against Microsoft (or at least to encourage some competition). Are you aware of any competitors to Windows that are good platforms for Thief? :) What do you think of the registration scheme for XP? That sucks with a capital S.

The crashing problem seems to have gone away. It must be dependent on the particular image that is being displayed, so it is not reproducible.
BTW, I just tried to link to the main TTLG Thief forum and it hung for a long time (forever to me) waiting for a display from Cyberreps. In my opinion, if one must suffer ads (I understand - that's OK), then they should at least display quickly.
Cheers.

Yeah, you're right. But again, it's cyberep's fault, not ours. :(
Thanks for the input though. And I do agree about giving Microsoft some competition.. its just that Netscape needs to seriously improve before I jump on the NS bandwagon.
