Like most of you I've accumulated a large backlog of games over the years through various sales of one type of another, yet despite this have succumbed to accumulating a larger pile of unfinished games than what I'd ever have a chance of tackling under normal modern working conditions. As I'm sure that many of us here in GG are in the same position, I thought it might be worth setting up a thread where we all nominate at least 3 games per month where we try to either complete them or identify as a stinker, if it's worth writing about then you start/add to a specific thread to avoid making this another mega.
My 3 for this month include:
- Max Payne 3. i love the writing and the characters are well constructed. The gameplay feels like it is from another era however and it's annoying having to backtrack when I fail part of a section.
- Trine 3 . I loved the first 2 and in fact just finished part 2 last week. So far I'm finding the change to 3d doesnt seem to improve the experience that much so going to put this on hold for a while.
- Ghostbusters!!. Seems good so far. Took me longer than expected to beat the 1st 2 ghosts in the tutorial but it seems to have a lot of potential.g's I'm

Not all games in your collection are your backlog, that's true. The purpose of this thread is only to identify those that are and to motivate those that want to participate in reducing their 'backlog'.

You mention your "4 for this month", but only mention three games?

Fixed. Typing posts on smartphones is hard work...

I'd come up with a list but it would probably change by the end of the weekend.
Alright, I'll give it a shot:
Subnautica - Crafting games are fun, and underwater games are fun, so logically....
The Witness - The real question is whether I'm smart enough to finish it.
The Evil Within - I heard there was actually some decent stealth gaming somewhere in the middle of this thing.
One more - bonus round
The Swapper - I've heard such good things, yet I have a hard time even installing it.

Considering anything in the library as "backlog", I'll go for actually finishing or getting a fair way through:
Life is Strange - it looks like I may even bother to play through another time because the differences in events appear to be quite significant
The Talos Principle - not guaranteed to finish but it's going well so far
MGS 5 - just got it but I got distracted by the above two
I think it's a good idea to narrow down to three because it gives you a bit of choice, and for me it may stop too much jumping around. Having recently got a new computer I've been installing everything just to see how it looks...

There totally is, but it's mostly at the start rather than the middle :p.

Also in the DLC, apparently. The stealth is sidelined in the main campaign quite a bit, but the shooting is good, manic, Resi-style survival.
These boss battles in chapters 9-11 were a bit Jesus Christ christmas crackers though.

Welp, this year I've set up the goal of not making the purchase of any new titles until late December when the Steam Winter Sale arrives. :)
This should give me some time to play a few old backlog games and a few more recent purchases.
As for what I'm playing right now, since I'm still in Mexico only with my 3DS and iPad, I am currently engaged with the trippy adventures of Gunman Clive 2. I am also eyeing the iPad version of Her Story because, why not? :3

Haven't forgotten about this. I did in fact finish Life is Strange and now the Talos Principle. I was pleased I managed to solve all the puzzles with only a couple of hints. I've just missed a few secrets which I may go back to later. On to MGS 5 soon then...
