Uh-oh...
Another weird thing is that I don't have a readme file for the patch, although I know for a fact that the game is patched correctly. And multiplayer didn't show up until I added a line to the user config file.

Glad I'm not the only one who has difficulty convincing friends to try SS2.
Although I agree with ZB that it sort of defeats the purpose to play SS2 as a coop (on a first run-through), if it's the only way you can get a friend to play it, then at least you can get them to play it.
One of my friends said once, "you know, I wish there were more games like Deus Ex, or VTM: Bloodlines". I basically said "you know, there is this one little game that I've been sort of calling my favorite ever since I've known you and I always tell you any time it's brought up that you should try it and it's really one of the only other games in the FPS/RPG mold of Deus Ex/VTM....I even got it completely working on your computer once, and you just uninstalled it."
Does anyone else think I should just kill him? No, patience. No one deserves execution...no matter what their crimes.

Well, an update. Randy and I got through the corridors in Engineering (which is a right bastard when you have to share rad hypos, and there's only one rad suit!), and into the storage areas. Randy manage to kill himself by walking into the huge hole on the upper floor, so we restarted our save again (we're restarting if we die without a QBRM). On the next try, we manage to get to the control room and turn on the QBRM, so Randy decides to go try wrenching the protocol robots in the storage bays. When he's done, we get the log and head over to the second bay, where we take the lift up, fight off the Hybrids, and I see that there's goodies on the other elevator- I very stupidly step onto it to grab the stuff, the elevator falls three stories, when I hit the ground my game crashes... and then Randy informs me that he (the host) has only been quick-saving so far, and we need to restart back in medical
Oh well. We were low on supplies anyways- he has issues involving buckshot and friendly fire.

Staying with a friend (who needed no convincing, is almost as much a LG fan as I am) recently I played through SS2 co-op. Muchos fun. Seemed very easy, as we both got all the cyber modules, but split most of the skill load. "Hey, can you repair my shotgun for me?" "Sure, can you hack this replicator so we can get some cheap ammo?"
But the best part was in BOTM, when I didn't have enough AGI to make it past the teeth. I just sat around waiting for him to finish the level. :p
