(06-24) 17:19 PDT Salinas, Calif. (AP) --
A California couple faces child endangerment charges after police say they tried to sell their 6-month-old baby for $25 outside a Walmart store.
Salinas police spokesman, Officer Lalo Villegas, said Thursday that 38-year-old Patrick Fousek and 20-year-old Samantha Tomasini were arrested early Wednesday, hours after Fousek approached two women outside Walmart and asked if they'd like to purchase his child.
Villegas says the women had thought Fousek was joking but when he became persistent, they became suspicious. The women reported it to police.
The couple also face a charge of being under the influence. Fousek also was on probation.
Villegas says he believes the couple do not have attorneys yet, but will likely get assigned ones at an expected arraignment Friday.
First of all, if that baby is only going for $25 it's probably a cheap Chinese knock-off made out of lead, drywall, and glue. Second of all, what in the goddamn kind of influence do you have to be under to think that selling a baby in front of Walmart is a good idea?

Of the choices, meth is the only one that eradicates all shred of humanity from individuals when they need a fix. Then again, I've seen Walmart shoppers do stranger things than this.

See, the other thing is that I know this is very sad and all, but I'm thinking about someone honestly trying to sell their baby for $25 and it's ridiculously funny.
Especially when he gets persistent. "C'mon man I'm serious, twennyfive dollars you can have this baby."

Man, everyone knows it's way easier to sell someone else's kid. You try selling your OWN kid and people be all "what's wrong with it?" :grr:
Also not voting LSD because they would have been inside the Wal-Mart trying to trade the kid for a case of Pop Rocks, a kaleidoscope, and a string of Christmas lights.

Huh? Babies were always available at WalMart and other supermarkets for free. You just go in and grab one.

Honestly why is weed an option? If it was weed they wouldn't have been able to keep a straight face trying to do that.

What kind of rollback is this?

Of course it's stupid to sell children in front of a bargain store. Anything less than Bijan or Hermes will neither connect you with the right client nor the right price. Trust me.
