I just started playing this game and I did the coolest thing by accident:
In the goblin jail where Polsius is kept, I was scared to fight the guard because I didn't want to die and had very low hps. One hit, and I was toast. So I devised a plan: run in and open the other cell with the dead goblin inside, and the guard chases me into the cell to catch the stinky human. Then, quickly run out and pull the lever, trapping him inside his own jail in an ultimate twist of fate. I built up my courage and made my move. Just as planned, he ran after me into the cell. I dodged his strike, and ran out. Quickly, I turned to find the lever. But he was faster than I thought, and I could see him, sword drawn, almost through the doorway. Panicking, I mashed my mouse clicking the lever. The sight that followed was a wondrous and grim display: the portcullis falls right as the goblin lord lumbers through the doorway, its iron bars swiftly impaling the hapless humanoid. His cry of pain echoes down the dungeon halls.
I can only hope this game gets even better.
Does anyone else have any 'crowning moment of awesome' stories from Arx?

"Your training is complete. Indeed you are powerful, as the emperor has foreseen."
Good job. From what I remember, this game has those kinds of opportunities for you to exploit.
Watch out later for some baddies that'll set you straight, though.
I don't have anything to add that I could call awesome. At least, not anything I did. I really like the level design and I do see that as awesome. Arx seemed to do an even better job of creating an underground city than UW1.

Thank you for sharing this. It's a great example of what the games we love are all about. :D
