He has some invisible/small tinderbox that he uses, like to light a torch in the inventory when you right-click it.
You an also throw torches that are lighted (drag it from the place at the left when it burns, e.g. after right-clicking it)
I have not tried to light fires or throwing into the water.

Apart from that: Does anybody know what the round cave is for? It appears like a fireplace or something and it shows up as blue circle in the automap.

Cheers, mate.

Thanks Raf for answering our question, we're really grateful for you clearing it up. I will buy your game I can tell you that much already. From your answer I see that we will be given some freedom as to how unavoidable confrontations should be handled. Great!
Hope you don't think we're whining too much, the only reason we're so deeply concerned about the way everything works is because we really like your game. :)

The only thing I don't like is, "Arx is an open RPG." I suppose it is. The demo is only a demo, but I really wish you guys would have had an even shorter demo, if it meant showing off how open Arx is. Also if it allowed us to complete the demo how each of us wanted to. You know, play how I want to play. I still am very eager for the game, but I am not too happy finding out now, that I will have to use magic.
Also I was only using a thief character as an example, if I want to play a thief, I will play the greatest thieving game ever...Thief.
Thanks again for the response.

Then, for the Goblin lord fight, instead attacking as a warrior, you could try to give a weapon to Kultar to make him stronger.
Doh! *hits his head onto the next solid wall several times*
You *always* think you have found everything in the game, and then something totally simple escpases you ;-)
Raf, thank you for your answer, and for you work and the demo etc, very very appreciated ;)
About torches: I couldn't repeat the torch-without-magic lighting. Neither could I light the fire. I must have done something wong...hm..
Cheers,
Tels

I tried to give him a weapon, and it never seemed to work. Double click on the weapon and then click on him to do it I assume? Cause that doesn't work, not for me anyway.
To light the torches on the walls with your own lit torch you need to take your torch, throw it on the ground, double click on it, click the wall torch, then right click your torch. Seems to me a good idea would being able to double click the lit torch straight off.
I'd like to thank Raf too, it's so nice being able to get responses from someone working directly on the game, makes constructing my shine so much easier with a name to carve into it.

After lighting your own torch, drop it and then use it on what you want to ignite.
I noticed that with high dexterity you make much more critical hits and also your hits spill more blood. My swing at the goblin guard took his leg right off.

Ah, *that* was it. I think it would be usefull to add a "double-click while it is inventory" mode to make it easier for non-magicans.
I am going to use magic because I like the spell system ;)
