-k, checking almost daily. Duncan Garage showroom gig over: I demanded a day off to get this done right:
This is to chew on in the meantime, written during compostion studies mid-Seventies at University of Alberta. (Originally C minor, shifted down to B minor for handbell choir directed at that time by my acoustic guitaist buddy's girlfriend- now his wife.) > Page one:

Update and an American pro link:
-got the live tape from 1975 into the Nakamichi yesterday and it's very boomy with the irregular miking we knew they'd gotten wrong right there and then.
And the mono signal is hard to the left for some reason, maybe physical decay and tape parts not in place: it squeaks loudly playing.
We'll do what we can while gigging all over the map; gas is very expensive, no?
We also have to re-digitize the Moog/DX-7 tape of mine from 1984 to get hotter laydown, so it's loud for all.
Some local musicians have to get short jobs elsewhere to survive here and conditons make it hard to get around and eat and play and pay rent.
Imagine doing this on the prairies like we did at -40 degrees decades ago.

Meanwhile, the very Tommy Banks (now a senator, oy), who provided our trophies from that 1975 band battle,
today got many highschool bands to play the
same blues number, bleahhhhhh, simultaneously, to highlight the removal of huge amounts of school music funding and facilities Canada- and North America-wide.

*BUMP*
Since my life has gotten increasingly more complicated lately, I have a hard time to make good on the promises I made earlier in this thread. At least twice, the very hardware of Storm was in jeopardy, but it seems to be safe for now (until something breaks, and I don't have the means to replace broken parts due to my current non-income). Also, my health problems are acting up again, and getting worse. I can't trust myself to keep any promises I made, and neither should you.
That said, should you run into me on one of my rare special guest appearences in #thief, I'd be happy to upload any music you might have made. I believe there is still some space.
You may, if you dare, also ask webserver-installer-extraordinaire-and-god-of-everything-digital The Great Overlord Mr. Daxim Sir, but chances are he'd sooner bite your head off. However, if you tell him "Gray sent me" he might maybe abide. But probably not.
Then again, if you post a link in this thread, I might have your track uploaded in a mere couple of months.

Two guitar solos, neither very good, but compare it with whatever I did a year ago and there
is improvement. The solos are mine, the backings are from various Harmony Central forumites.

-Track is a bit compressed because whoever made it spliced different files together and there was a slight pitch difference that I had to correct.

-I don't know what you call the key (a chromatic vamp?)... whatever it is, it's awful and was fun to play. The amp sounds like that on purpose. Stay tuned for some psychedelic effects near the end!
I don't know if I'd upload these, considering they're not really compositions, and I only played one instrument. Hopefully soon I'll buy me a little keyboard and make music proper.

Ooh, I know what I can post in this thread! As if I needed actual content as an excuse.
Anyway
Got through the first stage of the BBC Young Musician of the Year Competition on guitar, that's up against all other string instrument entrants from London. The next stage is in September, when I might be filmed or recorded!

Didn't you already tell us that in another thread? Will you be needing another trumpet? ;)
Just kidding d00d, it's a really prestigious competition that. My (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natalie_Clein) third cousin won it a decade or so ago :thumb:

Gimme a week or 2 and I'll e-mail someone a recording to put up (hopefully), sp long as I can kick my singer hard.

Again, if you find any old crap up there you made in your youth of folly and want deleted, please post in this thread and I'll remove it.
Also note that I have no quality control. All stuff up there is to be blamed on named artists. I haven't even listened to half of it.

Oh god, I'm right at the top!

Well, that's what an alphabetical sort will do to you. Now, since you're first, don't you feel an excessive pressure to be Outright Damn Good, because your tracks are the most likely to get downloaded?
Not that I'm trying to impose any sort of performance anxiety.
Oh wait, that's exactly what I'm doing.
