Lo there, here's my first post on these forums. :) I'm a long-time Taffer and lurker at TTLG (tho I've forgotten my details for my previous account so here's a new one).
I'm fairly new to Morrowind and loving it to bits, though I'm slightly worried at how damn addictive it's proving to be. Hopefully some time over the next few weeks and months I might get to go outside and epxerience the sun and fresh air.. but til then..
Anyway, here's a short description of a problem I'm having, and what I'm seeking advice on:
I keep getting attacked on sight by those pesky Redoran guards. I can take them out but it's a bit of a pain killing them or rushing about trying to avoid them when having to do something in places like Ald'ruhn or Maar Gan.
I think it started after I accidentally killed a guard in the Redoran Ebony Mine at Sudanit while taking out Darns Tedalen as part of a Nileno Dorvayn's Hlaalu quest.
Does anyone know of any way of calling these guards off?
Any help or advice appreciated.
Ta,
Tartychops.

Hi and welcome back :)
Chances are you have a bounty on your head. Have you checked for that?
If so, join the thieves guild in the South Wall Corner Club at Balmora. (Sugar Lips Haibasi is the one to talk to), After you have joined, go downstairs to the bar tender and he will have a chat subject called 'Price on your head'. Click it and he will take care of it for half of what the actual bounty is. To find out if you have a bounty, scroll down you main list of attributes in the menu, and at the bottom, there will be two seperate titles, Bounty and Reputation. Higher the bounty, the more guards will come for you. :)
I joined the thieves guild for this purpose only. Im a bugger for randomly killing people I dont like the look of :P
If you have no bounty, go to the main Redoran building in Vivic and talk to da boss. It may be that you have to 'Make Ammends' in order to call off the guards.
Hope that helps
Take care

Oooh cheers for that reply!
Yup, no bounty on my head so I'll make a sidetrip to Vivec tonight to see if they can accept my most sincere apologies for the unfortunate death of that guard. My sword slipped.. that kinda thing :)
And talking about bounties, I shall have to play around and see how much I can accrue.. I went on a minor, accidental killing spree in Balmora the other night and had the bounty up to about 9000 before I was cornered by guards and slaughtered. I'm a bit stronger now so I shall experiment!
I'm with you on the randomly killing people thing.. especially when they're rude and you get in to a kinda "You looking at me?!" mood.. even more so when those Telvanni call me 'scum'! How rude!!

Im quite pleased to be honest, I'm level 48 now and if I wanted I could kill every living thing in Vvardenfell. ald rhun? Killed all the quards together in 1 fight. Mournhold museum? Nailed em. Actually, the only people I would have trouble with are Almalexia's Hands. I'll have to work out my tactic. Kind of like walk in samurai style and stand in the middle of em? Or pick em off one at a time? Hmmmmm. Tough one.
I dont know if going to Vivec will fix the problem. Was just a suggestion.
:)
Take care

You didn't put the Indoril Armour on per chance? It's their sacred armour and they will attack you if you are seen wearing it. This continues even after you've taken it off.
If you do a search, I'm sure there is some information on how to de-activate this.

Hrm... isn't that only true for Ordinators, Striker? Or do Redoran guards also care for some reason?
