Everyone who signed the JAS petition over a year ago, remember your promise and BUY THIS SIM when it is released! -- Mad Doc is home to many Looking Glass staff, and they deserve every sale possible for ressurrecting this.

And, of course, THANK YOU XICAT INTERACTIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When Looking Glass closed, the JAS team felt they needed another two months to complete the sim. I suspect that it will take rather longer for the new team, as presumably not all of the original developers were available to come back to work on it. Also, it's possible that some updates will be made due to the elapsed time. So unless they've been actively developing for some time in secret, I suspect it's a few months away still. The story says there'll be more information released at ECTS.
The worst thing is that it will now have to compete with IL-2 Sturmovik. But JAS has some tricks up its sleeve that I don't believe IL-2 offers...
Wow. Just wow.

Incredible... although not entirely out of the blue. A couple months ago on IRC a Mad Doc designer who I'll refrain from naming hinted about something cool going on there. I didn't expect it to be this, however. :)

This is great news indeed! I've never played flight unlimited, so I am very interested in seeing what LGS(now bieng done by MadDoc) has to offer for flight sims.

Great news!
Even better - for me - is that IL-2 will be out first. [A number of years ago, I swore I'd never buy another WW2 flight sim until one had come out for the Eastern Front. IL-2 looks set to deal with that problem very nicely - now I can buy JAS without guilt. 8) ]
