I just installed a new video card with 128 MB of RAM hoping to improve game play. Problem is that I am now having weird display problems. The walls of the cave I am in don't display. They sort of flash into and out of site as I turn around. I have the latest driver installed. I just checked the Bethesda website. They say that the game supports up only to the Radeon 8500 chipset.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hmm.. dumb question; you've the latest drivers for your card, do you have the latest version of DirectX? (9.0b, I think)

Hi Forsythe,
I do now. no change. Thanks for the suggestion though.
I have also gone into compatibility mode and tried the default setting and disabling each feature one by one. No luck.
An example of what happens is that when the load menu appears, I can only see saved games if I run the cursor up and down the menu. I will keep looking for a solution or a suggestion.

Whilst I agree with Newbie on this one (you probably should have put this question in TES 3: Morrowind General Discussion, if it only occurs in this game) let's see if we can sort it out without a fuss.
Have you tried disabling SMARTGART Fast Writes? They cause no end of instabilities and CTDs and noone's quite sure why yet.
Did you completely uninstall all old drivers, use a driver cleaner and press cancel every time you were prompted to reinstall Windows drivers BEFORE replacing your old card? This could involve number of steps including routing through your Windows/inf directory and deleting certain files there if you had an old ATI card, not sure about nVidia or others.
Umm, games are usually forward compatible, and if my old AIW Radeon was ok then your 9200 will be fine, so don't listen to Bethesda. But have you trawled through their forums for info from other users? And Rage3d's forums?
That's just some tips to get you started, pretty generic stuff really but technical troubleshooting is not a 'wave your magic wand' thing, despite how us IT bods often make it look to the average user ;)

Nanol,
Thank you very much for the patience and the good advice. I have printed out your posting and will work through the suggestions including checking a technical forum. I am new to the use of forums. Just discovered this one by chance. I am now checking a FAQ on forums for correct etiquette.
To NEWBIE, I would suggest that you also check the same FAQ. And maybe look at some anger management therapy.
Again, Nanol, thanks much.

*falls into a fit of coughing*
*ahem* Ok! Newbie, don't worry about it. It took me a while to find out myself, but you should really leave the 'telling off' to people who have been on this forum for longer. And don't get mad at stupid people, it's not nice ^.^
And since this was a hardware problem that concerned the game, it's still allowed, though I'm not too sure why it's in the Spoilers section. And er... you did make your username Newbie... :erm:
No worries, eh? I hope everything works out for you Bill. Good luck.

The Problem has been SOLVED. I ended up uninstalling all drivers and installing a new download from ATI.
Again, thanks for the help and the patience and the lessons on forums
