#1) It doesn't work with a cheatspawned basketball. It has to be the one you find on earth, here:

#2) You may need to try a few times before you get it right. Position yourself here:

Save the game. Just drop the ball from inventory. If you fail, reload and move slightly to a better position. If you succeed you should hear some monkey sounds. Check your emails to see just exactly what those monkey sounds were.

You don't just hear monkey sounds. You get a regular email, a la Diego.

I think Gray is right ZylonBane. You really just hear the monkey sounds when you succeed. Then you have to check the e-mails to read the message.

At least that's the way it has always been for me. I just verified. I get a text notice "Incoming email transmission" and the monkey sounds. If I want to actually know what it says, I have to check my email list for Deck 5.

Thanks for all the replies! I guess I now get to go through the game again ... at least up until I can shoot the basketball.

Maybe ZylonBane can actually understand what the monkey is screaming without having to read the e-mail ;)

And what does the message say? :)
I've only fished out the sound from the disc to listen to it... and I don't understand Monkey
Still, the sound has brought me some nasty memories of the dark Hydrophonics corridors...

Matej You'll have to develop your basketball skills if you want to know what does the e-mail says :cheeky:
If you're into bananas, chips, hirsute companions, and tyre swings you'll love the e-mail ;)
