Anonymous is basically a greater entity than merely just the 4chan member list. Anonymous stretches across the internet, but 4chan, ED, and a few other sites are where they tend to congregate.

The extent of my experience with 4chan is the knowledge that the biggest jerk at my college (my first year) spent a lot of his time on there. Which didn't exactly serve as much of a recommendation for me to find out more.
