I know there are disparate AC-related threads here and there but I just wanted to start a separate overall series discussion, since the series will turn 10 years old later this year (holy crap) and a new one seems to be in the works for 2017-18. I only really played the original Assassin's Creed back in 2008 when it first came out for PC and was a huge deal at the time. I enjoyed it immensely but for some reason did not follow up with any of the other entries. Now, all these years later, playing through each title in chronological order, I'm just having a blast. Sure it's repetitive but it's also gorgeous and fun. And I love the mythology. I was amazed to learn there were ten main games released so this upcoming one would be the 11th and rumor has it it will be set in Ancient Egypt, which could be something unique. Wonder if anyone else has tried binge-playing the series or am I the only crazy one. I did it with Splinter Cell, so this is not a new thing for me.

By main I mean only the games that came out for PC:
01. Assassin's Creed
02. Assassin's Creed II
03. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
04. Assassin's Creed: Revelations
05. Assassin's Creed III
06. Assassin's Creed III: Liberation
07. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
08. Assassin's Creed Rogue
09. Assassin's Creed Unity
10. Assassin's Creed Syndicate

I've enjoyed most of the series greatly (even the admittedly weaker instalments like AC3 and Unity), but even with the stronger games in the series I got to a point where I was all ACed out. I can't even imagine bingeing on the entire series.

I thought "Freedom Cry" was part of Black Flag as a DLC. And I do have the Chronicles Trilogy but they're more like bonus games, since they're 2D.

You kind of hit a soft spot on me, because I have been thinking about binge playing certain series for so long, and it seems it will never happen again. I wanted so bad to play gta5, silent hunter 4 and 5, thif 3 all over again, Richard burns rally and some others but I Feel so overwhelmed about work, my side gig and living on my own along with other personal stuff that I barely get to touch the game console let alone thinking of buying a PC again.
Sort of feels like the gamer part of me is dying and I can't stop it. Sorry for hijacking your thread, kind of, but... Resistance is futile? Or is there something that can be done I am not seeing?

I have been away from gaming myself for a long while until recently. Other than Dishonored, I don't remember another game I played this decade. So I guess I'm making up for lost time.

Having done a few series play throughs myself, I highly recommend it.
Makes for a change of pace in the games you play. That said I've yet to fully complete a total play through of all of the games as some can span quite a numerous amount of games.
Series attempts so far:
* Command and Conquer / Red Alert - Completed. I couldn't bring myself to play more than an hour of the 4th entry so stopped after that.
* Might and Magic - Played through 1-7. 8-10 left.
* Y's - Played through 1-5. Many to go.
Is that the old command and conquer from the 90's? if so, impressive how can people still enjoy such vintage games today!

Ev0luti0n_, I think you'll find that most posters here have been playing for a good long time and are big fans of some games from the '90s.

Hell yeah. Dosbox ftw :).
I love going back and playing the old C&C games. Red Alert 2 in particular is great fun. It's the same as going back and playing Pac-Man or Doom or whatever (in terms of retro vintage stuff).
Plus COME ON, those cheesy FMVs are fantastic :).
I love going back and playing games from decades gone. It's good to have a bit of variety with your gaming. There are so many games that we play once and never again. Never hurts to give something a replay, many years later.
I did meant to be negative with my comment. I just get a wave of nostalgia, install some games and then I am never able to play more than a few minutes, and I always get a bad feeling. :(
