Im trying to do this mission in ghost-esque rules not following it too strictly but at least not being seen or alerting anybody.

However Ramirez is sent into full alert level when his servant drops the tray for him in his room. meaning i needed to black jack that guy or I cant do the mission.

does anyone know how to fix this?

On Steam with gold edition
latest tfix
HD graphic mod.

any comments on this so im not losing my mind would be great,

geez that bug just refuses to die somehow.

it's an issue with hdmod, but TFix applies a fix that targets this specifically (see temp fix for the tray in gamesys.dml), and should prevent it from happening - as long as everything is loaded correctly. so, do you have the very latest TFix, and are you loading hdmod per the TFix instructions?

I believe I did, I installed TFix first from this (https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134733) link

then when it said that was done i installed HDmod from (https://www.moddb.com/mods/thief-gold-hd-texture-mod/forum/thread/thief-gold-hd-mod-faq) here afterwards

I been a big fan of Klatremus videos and after watching the last black parade mission he did I figured id finally reinstall thief gold and give it a go in a more stealthy way like how he plays, but not as extreme, i dont have the patience for that :D

well yes, the TTLG download link is always the same, but if you haven't downloaded the patcher recently, then you might not have used the latest version (1.27b at the moment, only a few months old, mod handling reworked from scratch, a pretty big change when compared to the previous builds).

anyway, lets assume you have patched your game with 1.27b, and then installed hdmod by running its installer.. aaand that completely breaks the game, the hdmod installer is old, incompatible and unsupported. that's why it's load hdmod per TFix instructions. so, if you insist on using hdmod (as mentioned in the TFix topic, I consider NecroAge superior), then you have to do the following;

- wipe everything clean, patch a freshly installed game with TFix 1.27b
- open the downloaded hdmod installer exe with 7zip or similar, and extract the hdmod folder into your MODS folder
- use the mod manager (dmm.exe) to enable hdmod (if you want dynamic skies, enable the TFix version)

that should fix the issue you are experiencing, and also allow mod compatibility, among other things. if you backup a save before the tray drops, then that save should work and allow you to continue properly.
